And Fink... That's why we should refrain from speculation on actual numbers. 1 to 250,000 doesn't matter when just 1 is too many. I agree with you about the dangers of stating hard numbers as facts, it's better to generalize when there is no hard data. It is easier to accept, understand and lend merit.

Eden, I can name a dozen in my circuit from the past 25 years including my mother, good friend and a young daughter of my parents best friend. Perhaps that is why the figures do not seem exaggerated to me. I do understand and appreciate your caution but I disagree this is not a worthy subject to expose. I will do it in my own small way but I would like to see something solid and effective en mass.

The number of actual deaths due to refusal of life saving blood transfusion will never be proven and can only be subject of speculation. But logic tells us that the number in the past 50 years must be in the thousands. That causes Jonestown to pale in comparison and deserves to be examined and exposed. Why argue over actual numbers? The deaths are there and they are many. Just because it is hidden in obscurity like pedophilia does not warrant ignoring it. WBTS is a mass murdering cult. Whistles need to be blown.

If it is 250,000 or 2,500 it is mass genocide. That is what needs to be dwelled upon.

14 deaths per day from no blood transfusion in a community of 8 to 12 million? That does not seem exaggerated in my opinion.

I do agree that several thousand per year seems exaggerated.

My mother died from refusal of a blood transfusion, a young school mate died from refusal of a blood transfusion, a young girl in the KH died from no blood and none of them made any sort of impression on local news media. That was from one congregation. Several others in the circuit also died from no blood and none of them made headlines either. I don't think media coverage is anywhere near a touchstone to gauge the death rate.

As long as they keep having children they will see slow increase I would suspect. Lots of kids yet to be baptized between the ages of 9 and 19....

Expedite Elder Appointments?
by Simon Templar ini am out of touch with any new or modified procedures for elder appointments.
does anyone know, if an elder had deleted himself, and several years later wants to resume involvement, is there now an accelerated method for re-appointment?
does only the boe appoint or is the co concurrance and service dep't appointment still needed?

After being inactive for 8 years following stepping down as an elder I became a regular publisher again in early 2009. After 6 months the BOE would include me on several BOE issues asking my advice on procedural matters and such. They asked if I would consider being an elder again and it took me by surprise. They wanted to make the recommendation to the CO on his visit but I told them I was not interested. I am certain that the same process of approval from Brooklyn is still required. Brooklyn keeps records of all deletion sand the circumstances surrounding them. No doubt that is used and considered before re appointments are made.
3 months later I was divorced and have not set foot near a KH since.

From the initial meeting I had with several from the BOE it took 3 months for them to announce my deletion. In total I met 4 different times with various elders and the final meeting included the CO. Each meeting was an effort to change my mind and offer a "lightening of my load" Each time and specifically with the CO there was an aggressive line if questioning trying to determine any wrongdoing on my part. They were looking for anything. It finally boiled down to me missing speaking assignments intentionally among other tactics. When the accounts were not done, when public talk schedules were not created, when I would skip BOE meetings, when I would not bring my BS group to clean the hall, when I gave everyone a "G" on their talk when they obviously needed a "W" it became apparent that I had already stepped down and didn't need approval for my resignation. What a silly game that all was.
