Even as an asleep JW I wouldn't say something so stupid. I've met some really intelligent people here and I only see JW's making hateful closed minded remarks. Who is mentally deseased now??

Apostates defeated once again.....
by nananana inbefore the mentally diseased apostates could get their hands on and dissect any information regarding the convention that hadn't been released to regular publishers/elders...the society released the district program on the official site completely and utterly slaying every single demented apostate on the face of the earth.
now have fun dissecting it kiddos, while we big kids get a taste of solid, spiritual meet this summer.
continue drowning in misery while god's people go on rejoicing and enduring these last days.

I made it!! I'm just so freaking happy!!!
by Rocky_Girl inas some of you know, i started college 5 years ago for the first time at age 27. i had been out of the "truth" for 9 years at that time, but had just broken free of the mentality.
well, on saturday i walked across the stage with the 130th graduating class at rocky mountain college!.
after 5 years of working several jobs, taking care of two little boys as a single mom, and trying to get the most out of my college experience, i earned my master of accountancy, bachelor of science in business management, and minors in writing and organizational leadership.

Your an inspiration and a good answer to those Jduub negative comments about never being able to succeed without Jehovah on your side. Congratz!

It is rare that someone can break free from such powerful mind control at such a young age. The force is strong with you young jedi. Only the dark side deals in absolutes so says Yoda. Maybe you had Yoda whispering that in your ears as a young boy. hehehe Welcome and much love to ya! Your right to find a girl outside the cult. I married a women I love to death in the cult but now I'm trapped trying to figure a way to break her mind ctrl to the cult before I cut and run. I'm in constant anguish so yea find a nice worldly girl with no sexual or mental hangups.

WT study article for April 30-6 "Help People to Awake from Sleep"
by thecrushed ini found this article to be quite ironic!
here is the pdf for the lesson http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/w_e_20120315.pdf.
i had to endure this at the kh today and wondered if everyone would like to have fun picking the mind control and other nonsense out of this lesson.

I noticed this on paragraph 13: "Prayer interests people of nearly all cultures, even some atheists." Really!? why would an Atheist wonder about prayer?
Here is something really biased I caught:The sister continued: “One day, I phoned one of my sisters who lives hundreds of miles away. She told me that
she asked her preacher to study the Bible with her, but he never did.
Seriously? I don't think this is always true. I've heard examples like this multiple times and I just don't buy it. All preachers can't be afraid to teach the bible to there congregation.
Just 2 little things I noticed. My brain was numb at the meeting or I might have caught more things.

I never thought I would
by Kool Jo inwell.....what can i say...after lurking and much research and eventual signing up on this forum...i filled out my fs report for april with average hours and magazines, but i never went out in the ministry.. it feels odd, and i feel bad for filling out time that i knew i never did...i hate the idea of going out to people's door and telling them a lie...not sure how much longer i can do this for .
just had to vent!.
peace.

I know exactly how you feel KoolJo. What bothers me more than fibbing on my FS time is actually going out peddling something that I know is not true and is damaging in the end. I cannot do it and I will not do it no matter what the consequences for fear that someone might actually be interested.

The Path to FREEDOM
by SweetBabyCheezits ini realize i peddle carl sagan like christians peddle jesus but i think every one of us who has survived the watchtower, regardless of our current beliefs, should be able to appreciate this.
in the path to freedom (chapter from one of his books), sagan was discussing frederick (bailey) douglass's life in the early 19th century and his quest for literal freedom.
see if anything here sounds familiar:.

No they will have an answer for this as well. They think that the Cry of Peace and Security is going to happen at a time of relative peace then all hell will break loose. You can't win with JW's. The WT has everything covered.

Question for you atheists...
by MrFreeze inor agnostics too.
are you open about your beliefs (or lack thereof i should say)?
when people talk about anything religious, do you mention that you don't believe in god?

Wasanelder once One day I hope to have friends like yours!
I think I'm between beliefs myself. I'm leaning towards atheism due to all the mounting evidence that actually supports the idea. I think just maybe there might be a divine spark from something we might call a diety but I don't think we could even conceptualize it's motives or moral imparatives. I think that the Bible is more likely a grand delusion just as much as the JW doctrine is but I'm not gonna say that for sure because I'm still wieghing the evidence on both sides. What the hell do I know anyway I'm just a man.
I think for anyone to say they have "the Truth" and have captured GOD in a conceptual box is very arrogent and presumptious.

MsGrowingGirl20 is no longer one of......
by MsGrowingGirl20 ini am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses(well mentally that is)---however i am a christian...i recently started reading different translations from www.biblegateway.com...jesus is so different to how the jw's teach....and god...i mean, i still am learning and confused about certain things but i am in love with them.... it's obvious that the jw's are not an organization of god.i don't think god is working through an organization but through individuals...however i am going to speak to an elder tomorrow about my issues---all of them---and i'm going to tell him everything--what i've been reading, where i got it from---everything!!
i'm not hiding anything!
i have done no wrong....i just want to be a true christian and if they disfellowship me for seeking answers then this is not where i need to be.

blond-moment I really like how succinct you are in your comparisons to the Spanish Inquisition. It's no wonder they don't won't women speaking or having position in the congregation. Women like you would embarrass them and make them feel like the small men they are.
I'm listening to Death or Obedience right now and It's amazing the amount of times the keep looping around to the BORG. the constantly try to bait him into giving his so called Apostate views of the Borganization. The elders even admit that the WT is NOT inspired of god but there in lies the problem. We are expected to follow the direction of something that is NOT inspired of God yet he directs them in there efforts to dispense food at the proper time??? This makes absolutely no logical sense whatsoever! It's like these Elders are on a constant loop till certain conditions are met. He has a great point about the changing views and how someone who holds one view in 2009 could be disfellowshiped for having a view held in say 1994. He also pointed out that the Generation teaching has flip flopped from representing the anointed to the wicked to the anointed. Increasing light is not flip flopping. By its very connotation the term suggests a building up of structured knowledge that is supported by even further evidence that should stand on top of what is already known is it not? Oh wait isn't that too close to the scientific method? That would make too much logical sense to be correct in JW land.
