Things in which the Watchtower should mind it's own business...
by JH ingive a few examples in which the watchtower should stick to religion and mind it's own business in the internal affairs of it's members.. 1) whatever has to do with health and medical treatment.. 2) who you can marry and sex they can have.. add to the list..

Blood fractions insert covered in tonight's service meeting
by becca1 infor those still "in", how did this part go over in your congregation?
we actually had a brother raise his hand and comment that he could not explain to a doctor why we allow fractions and obey the command of levitucus to pour blood out on the ground.
i wonder how many others felt the same but did not have the never to comment openly?

Becca- The one who had the part tonite went overtime, we ended the meeting at9:25!!! My dad, the PO was livid! One of the old timers, elder too (80 yrs old, third generation) said after the meeting to me, "this is all nonsense, I'm from the old school, NO blood means NO blood." I said, "I believe life is a gift from God that should be cherished and appreciated which we show by guarding it with the utmost care." He said, "I can see your point" in a way that implied he thought I was being too shallow in my thinking. LIttle does he know that I am of the belief that since Christ gave his blood for our salvation, why shouldn't we give blood or recieve blood to save our own or our loved one's life? The Bible's prohibition of blood has NOTHING to do with transfusions. There is too much twisted reasoning, which in essence is utter nonsense when trying to imply that it should apply to transfusions!

baby elders
by SB ini'm curious ~ has anyone noticed how young elders are these days?
in my old congregation, 6 of our 8 elders were under the age of 30, one of them 23, unmarried.
the father being the p.o...ironically.

I was appointed at 29, I really wasn't reaching out, just humbly taking care of the "responsibilities" bestowed upon me. My dad was and is the PO, the other elders had tried to get him to agree to recommending me when I was in my mid twenties, but he wouldn't, he finally gave in when I was 29. I REALLY wish I could have had the courage to say I didn't want the "privelege" when the two elders approached me to tell me I had been appointed the night they were going to announce it! Come to think of it, I would have left the "truth" in my early twenties, but I did not want to hurt my parents and other relatives. I wish I could have been more selfish.

Gays Leave JWD!
by hambeak ini got a phone call from a person that i gave my phone # to.
and this person said that gays are not welcome here and this is not what this board was really about.
i told them that this is only one part of the crap that the wts did to people and that we are people too.

I have found that a lot of homophobic people who speak out so adamantly against gay people are struggling with their own homosexual desires. That being said, who is that person, that he/she feels they can make up arbitrary rules to be forced onto this board? Is he/she a Forum Assistant?

Vote online for the "New 7 wonders of the world" I'm disappointed with list
by kwintestal inthere's a few on their list that surprise me.
it kind of gets me that these 21 places that they say are "wonders" are recent architecture.
how can you compare the pyramids in egypt or the great wall of china to the sydney opera house, the statue of liberty or the eiffel tower?

Slim-
Four congregations in the Chicago area were recently disovled and the publishers moved into other congregations. I too am interested in the total congregations figure.

America's Most Wanted episode... Rick McLean
by stillconcerned inover a month ago, amw filmed several of rick mclean's victims who were victimized while he served in authority in a number of jw congregations in and around san diego, california.. .
mclean found victims thru his involvement in jw congregations, and kept many quiet for years by intimidation/ 'no one will believe you'.. .
the episode is 'in the can', and mclean, who fled when he learned he would be arrested, is on the loose.you can bet he is molesting some child presently; he is a lifetime molester.. .

Is the Watchtower Part of the Antichrist?(12/1/06)
by metatron inthe most recent watchtower offers the usual nausea inducing, mind-numbing and jaw dropping sort of brazen hypocrisy they are becoming.
famous for by accusing other religions of being the antichrist.. page 5 of the dec 1 06 watchtower says the antichrist includes those that "falsely claim to represent christ or that improperly.
ascribe to themselves the role of messiah by presumptously promising to achieve that which only christ can do- bring about.
