Abuse at bethel question...
by mkr32208 ini was just thinking when i was a witness i knew all about the pedophiles that lurked in halls (i was abused myself) so i knew and it never effected my faith.
i just said 'imperfect men' moved on.
however if i had heard of a sex scandle at bethel that would have been very different.

What J.W teaching did you find the hardest to accept??
by karter infor me it was the fact that god is allowing all these innocent people to get killed to prove a point ,i mean it was a big bet he had with satan.. i explained it to my wife this way if i had our children killed in the most horriable way just to show they couldn't live without me how does that make me look?.

FDS sole channel of communication between God and mankind.
The preaching work mentioned in Matt 24:14 is being fullfilled by the "marketing campaign" of the JWs.
GB and elders appointed by Holy Spirit.
The books of Isaiah, Ezekiel and minor prophets have "secondary" fullfillments in the 20th century all of which apply to the "annointed"!
Babylon the Great refers to the world's religions. Even more bizzare, EXCLUDING the JWs.
Just a few- Toooooo many to list!

Watchtower teachings
by jacethespace ina while ago i did a thread about the nephillim and was wondering whether the fallen angels were physical beings.. some here mentioned the watchtower reasoning about how the fallen angels who had children with the women [ in genesis 6] took on human bodies then discarded them when god sent the flood over the earth.. i thought about this and looked at the scriptures and realised that there is no scripture to back the watchtowers reasoning up on " the sons of god" taking fleshly bodies.then discarding them in the flood.this shows how the tower has an "answer for everything" mentally.. is there any other beliefs that the watchtower has gotten us to believe in which cant be backed up by scripture?.
while i was studying i was intrested to know what happened to enoch.in genesis 5:24- and enoch walked with god and he was not for god took him.i was told that god put enoch to sleep to spare him from the wicked around him that would have killed him.although there is no evidence either in the scriptures for this.it just shows how the watchtower interprets things for themselves..

That we need to keep track of the time we spend in "sacred service" and then hand in a written report which is recorded on a written record of our activity, which is then scrutinized by a body of "men" who judge whether or not we are giving our "best" to the organization.

New annual report due soon - what do you expect???
by The Scotsman inhi folks.
the annual report will be out in a month or 2 and was wondering what you think the current state of affairs for the org will be.. i am not expecting a decrease - but would love to see one.
as is normal each year a few countries will be showing a decline.. i know in a few congs near me that quite a number of pubs are going out less - a gradual slow down.

Just what were the "80 questions?"
by avishai innever having been baptized, i never got too them.
anyone have them handy?
just what did i need to know to be a dedicated dubbie?
-
Quandary
The old "Organization" book, olive colored one, not the green OM book, had 80 questions for baptismal candidates. I had the misfortune of going over those questions when I was baptized at the very mature age of 13

No Excuse to Shun Families - Almost Lost my Son Today
by Gretchen956 ini had such a shock today, its almost bizarre, my son was involved in an accident at work.
he's an ironwoker, which means he works the high steel on skyscrapers and such.
today he was working and tied his safety harness off to the cable as usual, and went to work.. lots of times they have to lean out and rely on that harness to keep them secure while they reach out to do whatever the hell it is they do (best mom's don't always know all), and today his dumbass bosses didn't have the cable attached on one end.

I am really sorry to hear about your son Gretchen, thank God he wasn't seriously hurt. I so agree with parents, moms and dads, NEVER letting anything stand in the way of them giving of their unconditional love to their children. Only a cult would demand or even encourage parents to shun their children, it so unnatural. The Witnesses apply 2 Tim 3:3 to the "world" (those who are alienated from God). However they seem to be fullfilling that verse all by themselves. They are the ones with their disgraceful shunning practices who have "no natural affection"!
I am hoping that although my mom is a die hard witness (reg. pioneer for the last 30 yrs) she will not be able to adhere to the suggested shunning when I make my exit.
Hoping your son is up and about soon!
