many of you may not see immediately how important this matter is.

beyond the other legal ramifications, i.e, the wts lying about secular info., intentional deception, etc., the blood issue is a huge one.

Approximately 5 years ago a JW mother in my congregation died at age 38 while giving birth to her 2nd child because of complications arising out of volumous blood loss. She would have been saved with a transfusion. She left her 3 yr old and newborn without their mother because of an erroneous interpretation of scripture by the FDS. Approximately 11 years ago, a JW in one of my former congregations died at the age of 14. He was born with hemophilia, he died because his parents adhered to the erroneous interpretation of scripture by the FDS.

I concur!!! From the information available about Barbara I have concluded that she is a very sincere and honest christian. I applaud her boldness in standing up for what is right and just, eventhough it cost her her relationship with her son. I have not been able to acquire the fortitude to make my stand public yet. I have relatives who are currentlly serving in branches in other countries as well as parents who are VERY active, dad is PO, mom a regular pioneer for over 25 yrs etc...I too continue to serve as an elder eventhough at this point I have lost ALL faith in the validity of The Watchtower with it's numerous corporations, being The Way. I hope to soon, very soon be able to finally make my exit without regrets.

How does one find out if the Watchtower has holdings in weapons companies?

recently i was told that the society has major holdings in companies such as northrup grumman, rayetheon and lockhead martin.

i know rumors are rampant, but how does one get legitimate stats on holdings?

Catholics Smell Like TED JARACZ

yeah, the roman catholic church leadership in virginia smells just like the spirit-anointed "boss" at the watchtower bible & tract society.... a priest who exposed sexual misconduct by fellow priests in northern virginia faces unspecified charges within the roman catholic church that supporters fear could lead to his defrocking.. in a court deposition, the reverend james haley exposed the affair that another priest had with a married woman.

he accused two other priests of hoarding gay pornography and one of them of stealing from collection plates.. the three accused priests resigned, but haley's supporters say he's been on involuntary leave for a year and faces further disciplinary action by arlington bishop paul loverde.. in his deposition, haley said he was overwhelmed by the amount of homosexual activity in the priesthood, but was stonewalled by loverde when he provided evidence of impropriety.. news stories follow.... link: http://fredericksburg.com/news/fls/2002/122002/12022002/1038872022 .

I certainly agree with your commentary about the similarities between the Catholic Church and the WTBS.

On a different yet slightly related note- What has really bothered me as of late; is some information that I have gleaned over the past year or so as I visit this site occasionally and read some of the posts. Although I am still an active witness, in fact an elder, it is ONLY because of my family ties. I have already come to the conclusion that this organization does NOT have 'the truth', I have been able to detach God from any man made organization and maintain, in fact, strengthen my personal relationship with Him even more. Anyway, the information that has especially bothered me is rumors about members of the GB, ie Greenlees, Sydlik, and Jaracz having allegations against them of pedophilia. I don't have the time to really investigate the validity of these accusations, nonetheless I am not quick to discard these allegations as just spurts from disgruntled xjws. If the GB could be responsible for so many injustices as are mentioned in Ray Franz's book COC, (I have not read the book completely, just excerpts here and there) what's to stop them from committing gross sexual sins and even worse ,continue to display such a "holier than thou" attitude? If in the end these allegations are proven, I have a strong feeling it will disenchant so many, it might really be the one card that brings the "whole" house down.

i was looking over the thread... "should i support bill bowen?".

i realize i am one of the few people that gave bill somewhat of a difficult time pretty much from the beginning when it was not "fashionable" to do so.

it was never my hope to see the man reduced to what he has, but rather to gain a better understanding of the issues involved, the intents and goals of silentlambs and to see reasonableness govern everyone's actions in the whole affair.. imo, i don't think there is any other single person in the last while that has done so much to help address the issue of child abuse among jw's while at the same time exposing them for what they really are.

Can someone elaborate about the allegation against a member of the GB molesting a young girl? While reading the posts on this topic Nancee Park mentioned it. I realize it is only an ALLEGATION, but I would be interested to find out any details. If I recall correctly, this brings the total members of the GB being implicated in molestation issues to three. Of course an allegation is NOT fact uless proven in a court of law, nonetheless, the fact that three members of the GB have had their names connected to this issue is disturbing to say the least.

If this is true, Im wondering if this is preparation for possible sizeable payouts in the recent lawsuits being brought against them for pedophilia and the blood issue.

Gilead Couples - gag

i was just thinking about the snoozefest i used to go through with each new gilead class.

the introductions were the worst!

im not sure you get the same feel from the doctored up articles in the wt, but listening to the couples was just maddening.. there was always at least 3 or 4 couples that would say the exact same thing: well, i wanted to be a missionary but couldnt go without a partner and my husband/wife was in the same predicament so we got married and here we are.

You obviously were assigned to assist the Gilead instructors. Did you have the opportunity to work closely with U. Glass? Did he not stand out as a truly sincere man? He and his wife Ann stayed with us a few years ago when he was asked to give the wedding talk for a friend of mine. Both he and Ann struck me as truly sincere people with a great sense of humor. Just wondering what your experience with them was.

that evening with the nba game following.

normally dateline runs at 10:00 p.m. on tuesday, but they must have changed it for the game.
