Lumptard- I just noticed you had already mentioned Irreversible.
I see you are from IL, did you see it at the Landmark Century?
i haven't seen this topic on here so i thought i'd.... hmmm, maybe it's because it's just too disturbing?
to me, the scene in saving private ryan - the two soldiers in the small upstairs room fighting hand to hand to the death (by stabbing).
i think that is the most disturbing thing i've seen on screen and there were plenty just in that film alone.

I saw a French film a few years back, IRREVERSIBLE. This film had two most horrific scenes I have ever seen or ever wish to see again. One scene shows a person's head actually being beaten to the point of it being completely torn apart off of the body! Way too realistic- The other scene was an aboslutley mortifying rape scene- The problem with both scenes was the realistic way they were shot, too real.

thats right, about 2 weeks ago i confronted the po and told him i just could not do it anymore.. i genuinely have been under alot of pressure recently with my work so i used this as the pitch.
he was not happy but i received little resistance, which suited me.
i handed him my letter last week before i went on holiday.. i have to say it is a great weight off my shoulders, no book study, meetings for ministry, talks, public talks etc etc.. i will no doubt be the subject of local congregation gossip!
CONGRATS!! I hope to do the same in a couple of months!!

i have been sworn to secrecy on a couple of matters that will soon be evident in this regard.
sorry to be 'cryptic' here - but timing is everything when one is trying to bring the very serious [and often ignored in the press] matter of child sexual abuse to the fore.
with barbara anderson's permission, i reproduce part of pages 66 to 68 here for discussion..
BTTT- Any updates?
my major claim to fame was that i studied with a family that i found from house to house and all 6 got baptized.
within a year's time, the mom and daughter got baptized and then within the next year and a half all the others followed suit.
2 of the kids became bethelites and the other daughter became an elder's wife.
UNFORTUNEATLY-- 4 victims because of me. Fortuneatly though, 2 are inactive.

c.t.russell began with a personal "purpose" which was to find a way to believe in/worship god while doing away with the beliefs he found to be personally uncomfortable such as hellfire.
he shopped around and cherry picked 2nd adventist views as a foundation.
to this he added pyramidology.
Can this commentary be submitted to the local newspapers? EXCELLENT synopsis!!

[minimus i have added to the title so people can read yor correction.
otherwise i think people might just miss it.
Minimus:
During the past 5 or so years that I have been lurking and occasionally posting, I have come to view your comments as "quality" stuff. I don't doubt for an instant that are reporting exactly what was said to you. I'm looking forward to reading what you come up with tomorrow.

an open letter to the governing body of jehovahs witnesses.
dear sirs -.
most likely you and your pundits follow carefully this site and others like it on the internet.
Jeff-
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your letter. What a fair and concise commentary on what is ailing this organization. We can only hope that it might just strike a chord in the heart of at least one member of the GB. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but a hope nonetheless. I however, am not planning to stick around to see that day-
