The People's Temple sacrificed their children, giving them Kool Aid with arsenic and cyanide because their leader told them to.
JWs sacrifice literally sacrifice their children by prohibiting life saving blood transfusions, and figuratively by denying them an advanced education. WHY? Because their leaders (GB) tell them to.
Scary!

Boring bookstudy book...which one was the worst?
by White Dove ini remember the old timers saying that the red babylon book was the hardest to understand.. in my memory, i'd have to say the isaiah books and daniel book were the most involved and boring.. the revelation book had gorgeous pictures in it (the writing was horribly boring), so i just looked at them, and i was 22 at the first study of it!.

Isaiah Volumes I and II without a doubt the worst, most atrocious "commentary" ever written! How dare they apply everything dealing with "faithful" Israel to themselves and everything to do with the unfaithful Israelites to Christendom! What a load of utter refuse! I hated conducting that BS with a passion!!!!

Do JW's watch movies in their homes which they would not watch in theatres?
by gaiagirl injw's sometimes speak about how they don't wish to "stumble" non-jw's or cast a bad light upon the organization.
do jw's watch movies at home which they would not want non-jw's to observe them watching in a theatre?.
if they do, do you feel that they are really concerned about what the non-jw's think, or are they more concerned with being observed by other jw's?

To add to my previous comment- After disregarding the "R" rated prohibition. I have expanded my horizons in the world of cinema to include many foreign films directed by the world's best, such as Fellini, Pasolini, Bunuel, Ingmar Bergman etc...Almost always their films are "R".

The first "R" rated movie I saw at the cinema, along with 5 other "spiritual" friends, was Schindler's List. Of course, we excused it as "it's history". After that, I started thinking about how many good films I had missed out on because of the insane prohibitions of the GB and decided that I would not allow their foolishness to stunt my cultural growth any longer. Ever since then I don't even look at the ratings of films, if I read the reviews and think it is something that I would enjoy, I go ahead and see it.
