Inappropriate Behavior

now i know i am getting older or of the older generation.

i have had a very strange day with a lot of strange dealings with people with strange behavior today but this one incident was just over the top.

so i came out of a store in a busy shopping center.

We don't know his circumstances or what kind of day he had that led him to have to change into his work clothes in a parkinglot. Hopefully, he didn't lose his housing and is one of many who still work, many times low paying jobs, but is stuck living out of his car. Live and let live, peoples. And, If my kiddos had seen him, I would simply have explained just that. No need to pass impossible puritanical standards on to the next generation... we've already left them with enough to have to clean up... this is kind of silly.

Any Others of the "Anointed"?

i was baptized in 1985, was a regular pioneer, ministerial servant, and on the way to becoming an elder when i left the witnesses in 1999. i also was one of those who claimed and (at the time ) believed i was one of the anointed.. i am wondering if there are any others here who also claimed they were of the anointed?

how did you come to that conclusion?

how do you feel about your claim now that you are out?.

Pretty common to be maligned when claiming to be a member of the annointed if you don't fit their preconceived notion of who 'should' be. Arrogant if you ask me for a man made orgainzation to say one way or the other as it (according to the bible) is not their responsibility to 'award'. :/ I've seen two 'late claimers' in my life, both treated like a pariah by the elders.

Will the UN turn on Religion?

as all witnesses know, the opening gambit of the great tribulation will occur when the united nations turns on organized religion to devastate them and leave them naked of people and resources.

however, as jehovah's judgement day has been spoken of as being "imminent", the question that can be fairly asked ... 'is the united nations organization actually in a position to act as god's destroyer of false religion?

while i have no doubt that most within that organization had in the past tried to make the lives of the desperate better, the united nations has unfortunately now become a weak and underfunded political eunuch.

my wife is in the hospital.

How dare the JW's continue this bullshit shunning in the light of a family emergency! My second thought is that ToesUp is right: your wife is your primary concern and this JW stuff needs to take a back burner. Really, does it matter that much? This is your wife... she is sick - gravely ill... your mom is helping not them. grrrrr

Tell these nosey idiots to take a hike. Stand up for your mom and stand up for your wife.

i was a very, very true believer until i saw the child molesters in my hall and how that whole thing was handled.. my husband is older than i am and had been an elder for 12 when we married.

so fast forward to 06, we are in a hall where i thought all the elders were ok at the worst and great at the best.

Born in - Elders daughter - diehard believer - found info not conducive to believing the lie - read - understood - split - went through hell for many years (15ish) - It's all gone and I don't give a widows wart for any of it or any of them any longer, ex family included.

so, yes, you can get it out of your system and go on to live a full and productive guilt free happy life.

Not sure how to take these latest posts. Look, I'm certainly not 'looking down my nose' at you for being a bible believer, but nor should you dismiss an athiests many years of heartfelt study and prayer to come to their conclusions.

That's right, I prayed... a lot. I researched. I spent years in higher education. I studied everything; Bible, Quran, Talmud... Estern Religions, History, Science. I looked at archaeology and geologic sciences... it just didn't pan out to support any modern religious dogma.

Keep in mind, I WANTED to BELIEVE. What I found tho is that science just doesn't support it. You want respect for your belief in god, and that's fine. Just don't disrespect others belief in science and the geologic record by saying that we need to 'look harder'. We have been searching for decades and found no compelling argument.
