Try the book Twisted Scriptures by Mary Alice Chrnaloger. It is very very informative to the whole process of how the WTS is able to indoctrinate ( and other "desciplers" as she calls them. ) How the group think is possible with peopel who are unaware they are being controlled to stop thinking critically.
The most important thing to get through is how they are being conditioned NOT to question. After that part is recognised the rest is going to take care of itself.

Make little stickers to go inside every publication you see with the website addresses of sites like this and a simple message like, Research this first! This is a cult. Keep them with you at all times. Hand out your own information flier when you think appropriate.

it is really getting me down as it simply does not compute from my perspective (and many on here i suppose) how and why rational and sane individuals would swallow all the garbage... the phrase i hate the most is "imperfect men", it gets me so wound up when i point out the flip-flops and flaws, and then i ask how anyone would follow 'imperfect men'... up next is "but i truely believe they are god's chosen organisation", but i cannot find any basis for that belief whatsoever... arrgghhh.

Song, the advice someone gave you here ( forgot the poster) about asking your wife what would she do if you were to become involved in a cult? I asked my husband that question the other night and the conversation went on much longer than I ever expeced. He said he would do what I did, research try to tell me about the cult, etc. Eventually he had problems and got defensive when I asked about "reading non approved sourses and talking with a former member to get a perspective". But overall it did go well.
So just FYI.
I am also trying to remain silent on the JW, have been for a while. I do bring up things about my own religion or other religions sometimes other cults. Once they go to the Memorial I am sure they will be motivted and glassy eyed. I am dreading that so much. I feel for you, and know how it feels to have it affect your health.

The Song Remains the same, are we the same person? Except mine is a husband that is a wannabe soon to be baptised, and I, the never been JW wife knows 100x more about this organization that he knows, yet he refuses to listen to one word. It is SO D@mN hard not to say things back to them. To call on their untruths.
It's about to seriously, literlally, drive me batty. My health is sufferng and our marriage is teetering on the edge.
It ia very sad to see and feel the destruction that organization can do to a family.

I have both COC and In Seach of Christain Freedom. I plan to hang on to them and lend them out. ( also hoping one say my husband will pick one up and read)
after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.

I have the upmost respect for people who have such guts with integrity, and go out ina repetful way. Stating facts and beliefs without degrading any of the R&F or otherwise true believers that they are doing the right thing. Planting the seed in some of those minds is priceless.
If only this type of thing could be more readily avaliable to those who are mearly thinking about becoming a JW. To head off at the pass is MUCH more effective than planting seeds of doubt to those heavily indoctrinated. Some of that mental soil is so poisened by the WT a seed would never grow.
