@Undercover, I know what you mean. After the game, my son wanted us to watch the post game show. I'm like, I'm good. I will be only tuning into the Super Bowl game itself. No pregame, no post game, and will take my bathroom break / snack break during half time.

Yeah, I think Lewis' emotional act was a little over the top. But I'm a Ravens fan, win or lose. And for those that are saying he's a murderer, etc., I don't know, I wasn't there so I can't say either way. Neither can you.

If Abraham had never lived...No Jewish nation, no Islam, no christianity

i guess the guy really did, that he did as the bible says and that he fathered the jewish nation, fathered by extension islam and christianity as well.

maybe he really did, because well, we have that trinity of belief systems existing that we cannot deny.. pretend with for a moment that he never did though.

lets pretend that the jewish nation never came to be, that the koran thus never got written, that the ot never got written, there was no jewish saviour prophecies uttered and that humanity made it through the last 4000 years or so without either of those three and their offshoots like christianity.. what would history be like?.

when cultures are mixed, you have a new culture. Explain "American culture" - a classic mishmash of everyone else's culture. Unless you are of the First Peoples, none of us were here originally.

but I agree, without the big 3, the now minor religions wouldn't be minor. I think the earth religions would have flourished.

Question Directed at Religious People

i'm currently dealing with some very religious jw family members and this has led to several "debates" (i hate to use the term debate, since it's more of a one-sided argument where they do nothing but reference watchtower publications, but whatever).. gotta be careful in what i'm about to ask, since there's been quite a bit of turmoil on here whenever there is a religion vs. science sort of discussion.

i've searched on past threads as this topic has come up but haven't received any real answers one way or another.

just lots of fighting.

A comment from my teen son: Maybe God created several different Adams and Eves and put them in different parts of the world.

I find this explanation better than Noah having sons of 3 different races. Or maybe when the whole Tower of Babel thing happened, people migrated to different parts of the world and their bodies adapted to the changes.

I'm in no way religious and I do not take the bible as the word of god.

as a special "thank you" gift to the watch tower society's team of lawyers for getting jwsurvey shut down yesterday, i have written a new article focussing on the experience of the nigeria plane crash from pages 29 and 30 of the 2013 yearbook.

the experience purports to be about the relief committee set up to assist a witness family whose home was destroyed by a deadly plane crash that claimed over 150 lives rather than the freak survival of the family because they obediently attended their meeting.. still, the reaction of witnesses on facebook unmistakably demonstrates that the real aim of the watchtower propaganda machine was mostly achieved in this article.

Need advice from a female

long story short.

ive been married for 18 years to my beautiful wife.

when i was younger i had a lot of attention due to my looks which has always made me extremely uncomfortable.

didn't read previous posts but maybe the issue is hormornal like thyroid. I'm in a depression most days, hard to lose weight, no motivation, low energy, no sex from husband, etc. Several drs say the same thing - exercise, diet, anti depressants. When the issue is chemical/hormonal, nothing works except the proper treatment. I will be going to an endocrinologist to see if I get better results. Once the mind is happy, everything will fall in place.

PS It sounds like you are doing everything you can to support her. My husband just doesn't get it.
