Hey there, and Welcome!
Ammo :)
hello all, i've just discovered this site and i cant begin to describe how happy i am to have come across it.
i stumbled across this site purely by accident...seriously i was looking at arkham city walkthoughs and a few jumps later i end up here.
i though it was a legit society page at first and thought 'what the hell, this will be good for a laugh', but after reading a few posts well...i couldnt stop reading.

Hey there, and Welcome!
Ammo :)
i was raised as a jw, baptized in a 1998 district convention, somewhere in portugal.. studying with jws had some positive things (not many... just a few).
i learned to read before going to school and developed this excelent skill of reading, interpreting and resuming texts.
i was an excellent student.. as a teenager my life sucked (and i considered it a "privilege" at that time) because i simply couldn't enjoy these best years of my life, because had to avoid all contact with people of my age (there were no young people in my congregation) so i lived the best years of my life as a "forever alone".
welcome Jamir,
yes keep reading, you will be amazed it has only been a month for me now on this site and others,-Jw.facts, freeminds.org. etc,- but the weight that is lifted far outweighs the initial guilt of looking on the "evil" internet, keep asking all those questions you had buried deep inside and don't look for watchtower answers.
I wish for you peace of mind and strength of heart as you go along your journey.

the truth (as i seen it) according to jehovah's witnesses.
written by gary busselman wednesday, 22 october 2008 14:38. warning: this is not for little jw children!
you will not find it in "my book of babble stories.
This is fantastic and should be compulsory reading for all that leave or are thinking of it
I can't BELIEVE I was sucked in by all of it!
A real gift thanks

my name is michelle and from the age of 3 i was brought up one of jw.
my parents became witnesses whilst in germany when my father was stationed there with the british army.
we then came back to england where i lived in darwen, lancashire, and attended darwen, bolton and blackburn congregations over the next 18 years.
HI Michelle,
a warm welcome from Oz.
Read some of the posts here, the stories are enlightening but also show you are not alone.
The picture board sounds like a great idea, and sometimes just to write everything down-get it off your chest, than re-evaluate in about a months time.
I think in the end we are wanting to be able to forgive, to enable our own lives to truly be less weighed down by the past and angers/hurt released. So do it for you and expect nothing- anything else is a real gift!
Sadly for some though Denial aint just a river in Africa.
Truly wish you all the best

i never loved the beatles.
i especially didn't care all that much for john lennon.. bob dylan, i never got his appeal!.
any songs that just didn't do anything for you?.
Ditto Abba
or any 80s pop stuff
i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.
Hello truman,
I know each day must be so hard,
and things will never be the same, please know as well, how much you are in peoples thoughts, and how love and best intentions are being sent to you.

in 2009, they reported 118 branches.
in 2011, they reported 98 branches.
a net loss of 20 branches in 2 years.. they are selling off kingdom halls, here and there - sometimes packing several congregations into one hall where one per building was the rule.not compassionate where weather or other traveling factors could injure publishers..... and they're selling off some assembly halls, too.. brooklyn et al is being sold - and you already know about all the many cutbacks, layoffs and the downsizing of magazines.. why?.
Sab that was spot on!
hi everyone, i would like to introduce myself and tell my story.
from the standpoint of being one of jehovahs witnesses, my whole family is deeply involved as i was the 5th generation of witness and any children that my brothers or sister have will be the sixth generation.
as some of my brothers and sisters are grandparents, i guess that makes their grandchildren a potential 7th generation.
Hi jake that was great to read, thanks very much.
another reinforcement as to why I have made the right call not to get baptized this year-appreciated :)))
i recently learned of this man's story- he was born with no arms or legs...yet he is a motivational speaker, self-sufficient, and just got married to a beautiful lady!
an amazing story i had to share it:.

Hi r/p,
I watched this man on an australian tv show a few weeks back, he described his childhood, teenage years and manhood, the one thing that struck me was all the way through his life he was a loving and extremely funny and humble dude, really able to make fun of himself even with the opposite sex and yes now he is a motivational speaker- I was motivated after just watching him for half an hour-Amazing guy :)))
so this week was stressful and emotional.
my husband's witness family found out that we where not attending meeting anymore.
she stated if "i keep talking like i am i'm going to get myself disfellowshiped.
