NEW NWT'S Distributed at 2013 Conventions?
by TheSnarkyApologist inchatter on the street is that there exists a very high possiblility of the new newworld translation being distributed.
it comes from a reliable sources, but who knows.
has anyone heard anything about this?.

I'd heard that the drama has a bit of a Steve and Selma feel to it, obviously no physical abuse, but one of the storylines features a sister married to a brother who doesn't pay much attention to his wife and children, but the blame is put on her for having an acid tongue and ignoring the advice of the elders on how to improve her marriage. Does this sound right?
The GB seem to be pushing this theme of women being to blame for failed marriages...yes it did. the sister who rushed to get married and didnt "wait on jehovah" was the one who was encouraged to control her tounge and attitude.she ignored the "spiritual" advice and was using "worldy" advice from book and the radio about relationships.
i watched the dvds. the childrens one was interesting. i hate the word "obey" it makes one sound like an animal taking commands. it basically teaches kids to just do what they are told unless they want something bad to happen or to make their parents unhappy. there is a special segment where the kids are supposed to sing along with the song book and the parts where the song says "listen obey and be blessed" had pictures of the family in field service. i thought that was such obvious conditioning. and by golly i never looked that happy in field service growing up. lol
the live drama was a little bit gruesome. it is the story about the fall of jerusalem and how they left for Pella. the actually have a disclaimer about the violence on the back of the dvd saying that its not a glorification of violence but just a depiction of what had happened.
quality wise i would say both exceeded my expectations.

Friday release
"Good news from God" brochure
Replacement of the required Brochure written in a simple and easy to answer format. it is meant to use before going into the bible teach book. the bibile teach book is referenced to in this brochure. it is similar in writing/art style to the Listen to god brochure.
"Who are Doing Jehovahs will today"
Meant to be used in the last few minutes of the bible study to get the student more aquainted with the Kindomhall language,customs and practices.
Saturday release
"Become Jehovahs Friend Series: Listen obey and be blessed"
animated childrens DvD. have not watched yet
Sunday release
"walk by faith not by Sight"
Live action drama based on biblical events. have not watched yet.

for sunday there was another DVD release. it is a live action drama based in biblical times. i was a little dissapointed.
the drama was a romace based one. it pretty much showed that if you set spiritual goals,date and marry someone spiritual you will have a happier marriage vs if you date someone who is unbaptized publisher /worldly. i thought it was a little unrealisitc.

about the dvd. it is a special edition of a series of animated videos the watchtower is now producing. they will be avaliable on the jw.org site.
during this convention alot of attention was put towards using the jw.org site. they stressed that this was the sole channel that they were using to spread literature on the internet.sites like this and even jwtalk were strongly discouraged.
i found the brochure about jehovahs witnesses to be informative. they even show how the literature is translated and published.
if a new translation of the bible comes out tommorow i will be damned. i dont beleive it. i think a new book for the congregation bible study will come out.
