  This is very weird.

  I viewed the Detroit Convention website and as the slideshow was forwarding it came to the sisters holding up the DE TR OI T letters accompanied with flowers. I thought to myself,' If they asked the sisters in Vancouver to do that, they would spit up a hair ball.' Just then the next picture came up of two sisters with placards with the words 'United in a split up world.' I thought, '..does it say SPIT UP WORLD?' The mind sure can play with you. Of course it did not say SPIT but SPLIT.

  before i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.

  during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.

  as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.

  Recent refinements / changes in WTS

  we had our co visit and on his second talk he mentioned we need to be a pillar and support of the truth.

  we can do this by accepting and working with all the changes, refinements and the speed of jehovahs organisation moving forward.. he listed the refinements and changes that occurred in the last couple of years:.

  1- study edition of wt - allows the society to use more meaty articles and not worry about non jws understanding them.. 2- public edition of wt and awake.

  The new 'Roaming Overseer'

  at 4:18 elder chris williams came on the screen and under his name i thought i saw 'roaming overseer'.

  i immediately thought to myself that this must be replacing the district overseer,.

  HOWEVER,

  on closer examination I realized Br. Williams position was 'ROOMING OVERSEER'. It then made sense to me,

  HOWEVER,

  it occurred to me that a 'ROAMING OVERSEER' may be a Wonderful Spiritual Provision from the Governing Body,

  WHEREAS,

  previously the District Overseer had to follow a strict schedule, a 'ROAMING OVERSEER' could follow his own schedule. This may enable him, after carefully examining the condition of various congregations, to give extra attention and help to those who are in greater need of his spiritual assistance. Perhaps he could stay for extended periods of time to ensure that the congregations he concentrates on will grow to higher levels of spirituality.

  If I asked for a loan from the WBTS would they give it to me?

  if this were the "organization" that jesus chose in 1914.. err 1919, wouldn't the principles that he laid out while on earth apply to this organization as well?.

  matthew 5:42 "give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.".

  so if jw's all asked for loans from the org, every now and then, it would be the orgs responsibility to grant those loans (interest free).

  the numerous comments and experiences from this sites contributing posters add a real flavour to a persons overall knowledge of the society, both present day and historically.

  i can well see how even many, many dyed in the wool witnesses skim or even study this site.

  if i was still attending and seriously supporting the society, i would be fascinated to read these comments.

  The numerous comments and experiences from this sites contributing posters add a real flavour to a persons overall knowledge of the Society, both present day and historically. I can well see how even many, many dyed in the wool Witnesses skim or even study this site. If I was still attending and seriously supporting the Society, I would be fascinated to read these comments. I would just ignore what I didn't like or agree with and suck up everything else.

  Much like humans do with just about everything anyway, but don't admit it.

  Note: 'Flavour' is spelled correctly. In Canada we also spell 'colour' correctly and 'centre' and .......
