More 'busy' work for the sheeple, gotta get them excited about something! Doing this 'campaign' is so close to being a paper run, its ridiculous.
Then you've got the pioneers who hoard heir invites, the Service Overseer who likes to ration them, and the people who only go out during these times coz its easy.
Oh the joy!

The New Diary of Winston Smith
by WinstonSmith inwe had to go off grid for a time, time and half a time as we thought we had been outed.
fortunately it was a false alarm, but it was a stressful time.
i asked for my original diary thread to be deleted in case there could be anything on there to identlfy mrs smith and i. i am always very careful when posting, and am sure there was nothing on there, but felt it best to have it removed in order to be as cautious as a dove.

Hmmm.
Checked my LinkedIn this morning, and there is a notification that the COBE of the congregation we just moved from (but which we have told the elders we are still phoning in to) has viewed my profile. We're not connected on LinkedIn, and I have never received any requests from him. In fact, I haven't heard from him since the last time I went to a meeting (March this year).
I wonder what he's up to?

Former Longtime Elder - Reflections

What an excellent thread.
This has been an issue for the WTS for some time now, and I can't see it getting fixed any time soon. One of the first KM schools I went to when I was an MS talked about the elder / MS ratio in New Zealand. There was almost double the number of elders as there was MSs. Ideally, they stressed, it should be the other way round so there are plenty waiting in the wings to help and assist the elders and then get promoted and ease the workload on the body, and let any older elders cruise.
That was eight years ago.
In my time as an elder we always had the same issue when the CO turned up. In the pre-meeting to discuss who we would put forward to the CO as potential MSs or elders it was always the usual suspects. None of them had changed anything since the previous CO visit when they weren't appointed. They all moaned that they weren't getting advanced, yet never bothered to implement any of the suggestions made to them.
It is reasonably common to have sisters doing some non-teaching roles in the congregation such as accounts and microphones. They will always be under the 'supervision' of a brother though. This may become more and more common as time goes on. I doubt we will ever see the day where a sister is giving a public talk though. The penis means power, and the Old Boys Club will be sure to keep it that way.

Cheers Listener! We took our time and made the right call. Moving was always going to be a key part of our strategy, and we had to play the lead up to it carefully. Moving house has really been a great mental line in the sand for us.
We haven't been to meetings since the memorial and haven't done anything socially with anyone from the congregation either except for Sister T. It was quite funny because a couple of people, elders included talked to Sister T and asked where had been lately. She just told them "Why are you asking me? You have their phone number, why don't you ask them?" She is such a legend. Of course no-one ever followed up.
One day I got a text fom our group overseer and I thought "Sheesh, finally a text from an elder! I wonder what he will say? How will I reply?" I went through a bunch of scenarios in my mind of what my reply would be to the expected "We miss you" "Where have you been?" "Can we do a shepherding call?" I needn't have bothered though the text said: "Hi guys, did I ask you for your report yet?" He got no reply. In fact we have not put a field service report in for two months.
Out of sight, out of mind is a good tool for those that are fading. JWs are so caught up in their little world that you are soon forgotten. The doors on those empty houses aren't gonna knock themselves you know!

Hello Konceptual99, great to hear from you!
Things have been rather hectic.
June is the end of the financial year here in Australia so I was bombarded with work. In amongst all that I had some interstate travel, and moved house. As of yesterday I have officially caught up with my work, so sorry, you're gonna be seeing more of me mua ha ha!
As I said above we have moved house. Bought a lovely place after much deliberation. Very happy with the location, the price, everything. It ticked all the boxes. One of the most important boxes it ticked was that it was out of the territory of our congregation. This will make it easier for us to complete our fade. We feel like we have moved in to another gear with the fade with this move.
We still have some things to work through, but being out of the territory while telling people we are phoning in to the meeting is proving effective. The statement "out if sight out of mind" is so true, and many have heard we have moved (LOL at the JW gossip lines!) and have simply assumed that we are attending the congregation in our new area. Only the elders and our good friend Sister T know that we are phoning in (we're not, but are letting them think that), and only Sister T knows our new address. So far we have managed to avoid giving it out, despite the elders trying a couple of times. Nuh uh losers.
So on that front things are going well. The next challenge will be that Mum texted me today saying that they are thinking of coming over for the convention this year. DUN DUN DUNNNN. -

Yet Another secretly recorded Judicial Meeting for you...
by RayPublisher inyet another secretly recorded judicial committee hearing...the hero of this story is rachel... this brave and funny kiwi lady stands up to the local elders and goes through this scary situation with grace and logic and so much class!.
bravo to her husband who comes along to support her and her goal is to awaken and perhaps reach the hearts of these men that are poised to spiritually execute her.
this goes right against the false label applied to so-called apostates by the wt society that they are insincere, slanderous people out to hurt the faith of others.. listen to the story unfold as rachel boldly shares her research and her conscience with these men.

Hello Ray, thanks for posting!
Always good to show everyone what goes on in these things. I think one of the most cringeworthy things about the whole thing is the small talk before they start. Its akin to stepping up the gallows, asking the executioner how they and their mother are.
"I'm good thanks, yeah and Mum is doing great. By the way, I bought my best rope out for you."
Ray is there any chance these recordings can be broken up into smaller parts, like ten or fifteen minutes? I can't listen to the whole thing all at once and don't want to chew out my data allowance waiting for it to load each time. If it was broken down into smaller parts it might be make it a bit more accessible perhaps?
Just a thought, love your work!
:-)
