  to New York. (close to Watchtower Farms, but I'm in Bloomingburg, NY)
  One of our brothers has been shockingly non-devout. He, Dan [last name removed],
  recently invited my family to have dinner with him and his wife. He
  offered to let me use his computer to type a final draft for a college
  paper. I saved the document to the hard drive instead of to my disk by
  accident and while looking for the document to remove it, I came across
  a vast array of pornography, including homosexual pornography, stored on
  the computer. I immediately closed the window and tried to pretend for
  the rest of the night as though nothing had happened. I didn't want to
  hurt brother Dan or cause an uncomfortable tension between him and I,
  but I believe he needs some help from the elders.

  I thought this was pretty funny. I have *NOT* replied, and probably won't bother. If I did, it would be too hard for me to *NOT* say this:
  
  (1) How stupid is this person? What part of "not affiliated with WTS" (in big red letters on every page!!!) don't they understand? Why did they send their email to me?
  
  (2) SSSSUUUUURRRRREEEEEEE you were looking on his hard drive "by accident". SSSSSSUUUUUUURRRRRREEEE you weren't deliberately spying. SSSSSUUUUURRRRREEEEE you "accidentally" found "a vast array of pornography" -- I guess you continued to "accidentally" search the hard drive after you found the first porno picture, right? And continued after you found the 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th; continued your "accidental" search of the hard drive until you had determined there was a "vast array". Reminds me of the joke about the murder suspect that "accidentally shot his wife" twenty-three times with a gun that only holds eight rounds. SSSSSSUUUUUUUURRRRREEEEEEEEE it was an accident.
  
  (3) If you feel you must tattle, why not tattle to your local elders -- you know, the very same ones you feel should help him? Why send an email to someone you don't even know?

  What Kinds of Jobs Do JWs Have That You Know Of?

  i was thinking that most jws that i personally know have jobs that they really aren't happy with.

  almost no one is a professional except for one cardiologist that got baptized a few years ago.

  there's no one that's been raised in the "truth" that has a college education that i know of except one 22 year old young man who has done nothing to seek employment since he graduated.........any witnesses that you know of with great jobs?

  ok, lets see if you guys know the answer to this simple question.. .

  if you have a car with a mechanical speedometer and odometer, not digital, and if you back up, will your mileage on the dial back up?.

  7 miles on the odometer and you back up, for a few hundred feet, will the mileage also back up slowly to 47,108.6 and so on....?.

  i'm somewhat currious why active witnesses appear to frequent the site, and if the information on this site causes any to "fade away" or "dis-associate"?.

  personally if i have known 18 years ago what i know now i would have been a lot more active in trying to convince all i cared about to leave, instead of fading away [gone with a bang so to speak].

  it's funny how when you are in it you can't see it for what it is.

  Here is the kicker, IMHO.
  
  When confronted with this racist past, JWs (i.e. my parents) dismiss it by saying "well, remember the context of when this was said; many people believed in the superiority of the white race back then.
  
  The problem is when Awake! 1982 February 8 throws mud at the catholics: "And for centuries the Catholic Church taught that Negroes were a cursed race. John F. Maxwell states in his book Slavery and the Catholic Church that this view "apparently survived until 1873 when Pope Pius IX attached an indulgence to a prayer for the 'wretched Ethiopians in Central Africa that almighty God may at length remove the curse of Cham [Ham] from their hearts.'""
  
  So, it 1982, Awake! is slamming Catholics for being racist in 1873, and yet WTS themselves -- God's channel of communication, delivering delighful, correct words of truth -- held the same racist views up to 1929, and even suggest as recently as 1952 to *NOT* get involved with the Equal Rights movement: "So if the Bible does not instruct Christians to fight slavery it would not sanction them to battle the lesser evil of segregation, at the expense of gospel-preaching."
  
  Even if -- *IF* -- you could dismiss their racism (personally, I cannot, but for the sake of argument...) as an "honest mistake", there is only one way you can look at them throwing "racist" mud at the catholics but ignoring their own racist record: a lie. And there's no such thing as an honest lie.
