Thanks for catching that Scully. You are correct, I would prefer that my name not be posted here at JWD. If someone wants/needs it, it is available in the scan I posted, and that can be used for contact info on Press Releases any one wants to send out.
No harm, no foul; I had asked EscapedLifer1 to include my name/contact info on the press release; but I didn't want my name posted directly here on JWD, forever to be archived and catalogued by Google.
Thanks again to EVERYONE, you are all being so helpful.

Abaddon, your are very perceptive.
As the provider of all this "raw information" it has always been my official policy to not draw conclusions for people. However, if I were speaking off the record, my words would be somewhat similar to yours, although perhaps not as concise.
Don't be too hard on ithinkisee, he has a fair question, and opened the floor to opinions.
I am certainly not the first person to wonder about these biblical passages. I can say that if I had a daughter that had been raped, I don't think I would be selling that daughter ("bride price") to the rapist as punishment. But maybe I'm just not that "scriptural", in the Old Testament sense of the word.

ithinkisee, like all the other WT quotes at the site, they are "interesting and/or significant".
If you don't find them interesting, or don't find them significant, that is fine too! Just ignore 'em.

Old friend running back to the KH because of New Orleans tragedy
by unbeliever inwhy do people do that?
she told me herself she thinks the religion is bullshit but she has that nagging doubt of what if it's true.
i am trying to wrap my mind around that comment.

I suspect that this pattern has played out many times over thousands of years:
Something scary happens in the weather, or water levels, or wildfires, or droughts, or whatever, and people run to their metaphysical savior of choice for protection.
After the enlightment, one would have thought that this would not happen. We now know that weather is a massively chaotic system, fed by huge amounts of power from the sun, and can occassionaly have extreme results -- like huricanes, which happen every year.
We now know that this planet is geologically unstable (due to magma core**) and as long as it is, earthquakes will happen.
We now know that New Orleans is below sea level, and continues to "sink" due to sediment build up surrounding it; and that it is on the possible path of hurricanes (which, as I already mentioned, happen every year).
And yet, when a hurricane hits New Orleans, causing a higher than normal amount of damage, your old friend throws up her hands and runs back to Watchtowerism, "just in case".
No offence to your friend, but I wonder what it must be like living in the 21st century, with a 1st century (or perhaps older) world view.
~Quotes, of the "Meteorologist" class
** Yet that same magma core is vitally necessary because it provides the protective geo-magnetic field which prevents the solar wind from removing the atmosphere; you have to take the bad with the good. IOW, to eliminate the earthquakes, you eliminate the atmosphere. -

Aren't we great? JW's lead the way at the Astrodome
by Bonnie_Clyde ina letter that was just passed on to me by e-mail.
it's important to follow the elder's directions:.
hi don,.

I can't possibly understand how any JW could be proud of this experience, even if it is true (which I suspect it is not).
I basically says: "We used our superior organization skills to take of only JWs, and got them out of the Astrodome ASAP. We then left everyone else to fend for themselves, because our Christian Love only extends to fellow JWs" -

rebel8: just a guess from me, but perhaps the online post editor is choking invisible characters in your document that you are not even aware of.
Try This: first, copy and paste into NOTEPAD (or any other simple text editor) then, copy from NOTEPAD into the JWD post editor.

Is anyone here still expecting/hoping the Kingdom will come one day?
by JH inmathew 6:9. you must pray, then, this way: .
our father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified.
10 let your kingdom come.

Quotes
I thought J.C. returned as King in 1914.
So I guess the Kingdom is already here.
Now, I'm just waiting for the King to assign me to my official little "Serfdom". Or waiting for this installed King to do anything else, for that matter.
And waiting.
And waiting.
And waiting.

I must admit that I enjoy the "Quote's" site and use it at least three or four times a day when writing my rebuttals during debates with JWs who like to say, "WE never taught that!"
And frankly, that is exactly why I created the Quotes web site. I had those same type of conversation: "NO, JWs never EVER said that"
Specifically, at one time a (former) friend claimed that WTS/JWs never EVER claimed to be "God's Channel". IIRC, God's Channel was one of the first, if not the first, page I made. Simple statement of facts via fair and verifiable quotes:
"Yes, friend, they DID say they were/are God's Channel. Now you can stop this childish denial, and we can continue with an intelligent and meaningful discussion."
Sadly, I never got to have that last part of the conversation with him.

WATCHTOWER PUBLICLY ADMITS HUMAN OPINION AND NOT GOD'S SPIRIT
by Terry incan any christian imagine jesus christ taking the pharisees to court and complaining to the sanhedrin:
"stop these men from quoting me accurately--it is embarassing!"?
the pharisees twisted words for their own benefit and opposed jesus publicly for exposing their errors as errors of men spouting human opinion and passing it off as god's authority.

I just want to remind everyone that regardles of your, or my, opinions of the WTS Quotes, they are presented in a full, complete, verifiable, fair, and honest way, and without any opinion expressed. The only control I have is deciding on how to Categorized the various and sundry quotes.
I know, both from email and personal discussion, that some people feel "strenghtened" in their faith to see the corrections, which they feel proves divine guidance.
Others may have another opinion of the material. It would appear, based on para.31 in the Statement of Claim, that WTS feels their own material, as presented at my site, embarrases them. Well, that is their opinion. Maybe WTS is not a spiritually strong as the ones that email me, or talk with me, to say it is spiritually strenghtening to see my WT Quotes collection.

DOES Quotes owe the WT $100,000?
by confusedjw inbut doesn't the wt have to first prove damages to get the $100,000 ?.
"your honor - people are leaving and prevented from coming into our private organization after they read quotes.watchtower.ca".
"this hurts you how?".

Thanks Terry!
One small typo: that link said the suit is for "100,00" rather that "$100,000"
To a european, that uses "comma" where we use "decimal point" they might read that as being a law suit for $100. Hey, if it were only that cheap!
