Taking your research at face value, and assuming it is correct, I offer the following reasonable explanations:
Lawrence has a full time job as well as full schedule after working trying to put together his legal case. He certainly doesn't have the time, (nor, I suspect, the inclination) to waste his evenings they way I do (for example) on JWD.
Or perhaps he is busy on another board, I don't know.
At any rate, I would agree with your concern if this was an "unknown" walking in off the street asking for money. However, Lawrence's reputation and veracity are well established -- his low JWD post counter notwithstanding.
If you don't feel comfortable contributing to a civil case that could do some serious damage to WTS (both financial and reputation damage) then don't contribute.
To the rest of you, I understand that many of us have been left with poor incomes thanks to our getting advanced degrees in Awakism and Watchtowerology instead of a real education. But if you can put $5 or $10 "in the hat", please do.
For the record, I have personally contributed more than one day's (net) pay.
Why do I care? Why am I here advocating for Lawrence? Simply because I feel the case has merit and an excellent chance of success. The fact that a win will hurt WTS finances and reputation is my prime motivation; seeking justice for the estate of a sweet little girl that let a relgious cult wreck her treatment and encourage her to poison herself... well, that's even better motivation.

Confession said: "Secret? No."
I disagree, friend.
The existence of the book is obscure, in many (non-elder) circles, IMO you are the exception. My mother did not know about this book until I told her about it, and she has been married to my Elder/Father for over 40 years. But the secret is not the existence, it is the CONTENTS.
From the Merriam Webster online dictionary: http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/secret:
"revealed only to the initiated : ESOTERIC"
The contents are revealed only to the initiated (i.e. Elders). Therefore the contents are secret. Therefore it is a secret book.
As for the comment that the "had written" notes protects WTS. Yes, IMO that is the game they are playing. However, the Discovery process in USA is pretty broad, and if you could subpoena several books, from several different congregations, in different parts of the country, and they all have the same hand-written notes in them, the thin veneer of protection disappears. One day this will bury WTS.

SOL said: "they brought in a scholar who lived in Iraq and had a ton of info on 607 and stuff, I couldn't refute everything he said."
Your kidding, right? Since when does a local congregation have access to anyone that can do more than Parrot the "Pay Attention" book?
Hey, wait a minute!!!! If they can bring in a "scholar" (you don't suppose it was Scholar from JWD, do you?) then why can't you bring in your own "scholar"????? And as an aside; isn't it interesting to note that these learned men in the congregation ("elders") have to defer to someone else?
BTW, did you get a chance to tell this scholar that he is going against what has been printed (indirectly) in the Watchtower? See http://www.reexamine.org/quotes/607bce-table.htm for more info.

Thank you, jgnat, for that summary. I would like to offer one correction. You said:
11.Bethany no longer has blood transfusions and is administered a completely useless course of treatment.
I would humbly suggest that should read as follows:
11.Bethany no longer has blood transfusions and is administered an extremely toxic, dangerous poison which has zero positive effect and reversed the great recovery she had been making just prior to the start of this Arsenic "treatment".
IMO, giving someone poison is much, much worse than simply giving them a useless placebo.
At the above just deals with the doctor's malpractice. Don't get me started on the WTS lawyer's legal malpractice. Consider this: the courts have agreed to let the case move forward, against the doctor and the lawyers.
Gnam and Brady (yes, I know you are reading this! Hi Guys!), how do you spell D-I-S-B-A-R-R-E-D? Don't worry, one of you can always fall back on your fantastic Cinnomon baking skills; the other will just have to learn how to get up at 4am ("time to make the donuts!")

A New Voice
by apfergus ini haven't been involved with the jws in nearly five years now.
i was raised as a witness from the time i was seven until i was 17 and a junior in high school.
i don't have any particularly sad stories to tell, really, except that the process of leaving the organization--even though i was never baptised--was the hardest thing i've ever gone through.

This makes me sad and angry: More White Men taking advantage of Black folks.
And I see many of the "Brothers" (no pun intended) wearing dress-shirt-and-tie. Oh, GREAT WTS. Just wipe out their dress and grooming culture too! It isn't enough that you are wiping out their religious culture, you have to make them look like dorkey American business men too! GGGGGGRRRRR!!!!!
It almost make me feel good to know that some fellow Nigerians are sticking it to The Man my running their email scams.
Hey, you don't suppose there will be a part at the assembly: "Well Brothers and Sisters, before I 'got the truth' I was a person of the world, and would send email to people saying if they could help me free illegally obtained money, I would share it with them."

Confession me reply to your message RE Richie
by Beep,Beep ini do not agree with your reading of "policy".
i base this on personal experience on a couple of fronts.
1. i have yet to come across a single verifiable of a cover up.
-
Quotes
Beep, Beep said: " Yes I have read all sorts of claims but not one verifiable."
I would be happy to put you in touch with a victim, or perhaps the victims's father, and elder, who was part of the cover-up of the offending elder. As I stated on the radio, for thousands to hear, the victim confided in me: "Do you know what he did to me? If I had gone to the police, he (the offending elder) would be in jail right now."
And yes, I didn't call the police either. I let the elder's handle it (they forced the elder to stop down -- big deal). So yes, I am complicit in one cover up. I can give you whatever verification you want, just send me a Personal Message here at JWD.
As for the Nazis, and "no one knew" stuff; well, I remember reading in an Awake! mag about 10 years ago how, supposedly, the Golden Age mag had publised all about hitler and the death camps as early as the 1930s. So, which is it? Did no one know? Or is the recent Awake! claim correct, and WTS DID know, but chose to ignore it and are now pretending they didn't know? Kind of hard to choose, Beep Beep! Is WTS liars? Or complicit in a Genocide? (Hint, go with liars, people are less forgiving of genocide!)

Shunned Father, I just want to wish you well in your efforts. The time is long overdue for WTS to get their comeuppance.
To all at this board: by now you know me, and I hope trust my opinion. And I want to say quite clearly: This is legitimate. This is for real. This case has merit.
Hey. What are you doing right now? Why not click that link Scully posted above and yet a donation via PayPal. Surely you can afford $10 or $20 or $50 dollars.
How about "Brown Bag Lunch for Lawrence". Take a lunch to work, instead of buying it. Put the $7.50 (or whatever) aside; at the end of the week you have $37.50 to send to Lawrence. It doesn't sound like much, but it is! Every little bit counts. There enough regulars at this board that we could easily hit the $10,000 retainer without too much difficulty for any one person. But we all have to pitch in.
Seriously, put your money where your mouth is, and help Shunned Father.

Anointed "Remnent" projections
by Elsewhere ina person who cannot reveal his/her identity has asked that i post this research regarding how long it is taking for the "remnent" to die before armageddon comes.. ====.
a recent jwd posting (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/110850/1.ashx) got me playing with remnant figures in excel.
the results are obvious, and frankly not surprising.
-
Quotes
So let me get this straight.
If the current "trend" continues, there will be 3,352 "anointed" in the year 2114. (i.e. 108 years from now)!!!!!!
Perhaps Blondie could give us a quote from WTS about "the number of the Remnant is very small and rapidly shrinking, they are very old, therefore these days left are very, very short".
The above seems to not include a detailed actuarial analysis, which I suppose is fine when you think about it. An actuarial analysis could only tell us what the curve "should" look like, based on known death rates, for a group. But that is only necessary to see what the curve "should" look like. The above seems to simply look at the curve as a trend and let the numbers speak for themselves: the curve could be anything: stock prices, vegetable yields, Coyote population, etc. We don't have to know what the external and internal forces on the group are, because it doesn't matter for a trendline analysis. As long as the trendline fits with a high accuracy (i.e. R^2 close to 1.0) then it is a reasonable trendline and OK to use to predict future values, as long as the external and internal forces don't change radically. So, as long as the "replacement Anointed" dogma holds true, it is reasonable that this trend will continue as predicted.
Hey, let's calculate the year for remnant = 0
(Quotes dusts off his math skills)
Let me see, we want y = 0 = -3924.9 Ln(x) + 23368
Solving for x, x = e^(23368/3924.8) = 385.2659
hhhmmmm... oh, wait. that is number of years after 1950, so 1950 + 385.266 = 2335.266
You heard it from Quotes first! If current trends continue, the Remnant will be reduced to zero in the spring of the year 2335. Hhhhmmm.... springtime, eh? I guess it will be a Memorial time! How appropriate! :)
It's too bad this data only goes back to 1950. It would be great to see that curve all the way back to pre-1935 (the Anointed Selection cut-off year, unless you are a Second-Stringer Replacement).
~Q
P.S. Doesn't "Remnant" sound like we are talking about dicounted, end-of-line rugs and carpeting???
