has anyone ever put a note / flyer in a jw donation box?or has anyone ever found one in a donation box?
what was your reaction?.
i've heard of some putting stickers in literature (before it's published).. i was thinking of dropping a few in the donation box (when i visit my elderly mother i sometimes go to the meeting).. what would be a good note?.
When I quit being accounts servant because an a@@hole elder moved into the hall and said I was doing it wrong and he was taking over, I put $25 in pennies in one box and $30 in nickles in another. I still had a key so I just got to the hall early and opened the box and put it in instead of putting it through the slot.
And I made sure he knew it was me.

I was a Brooklyn Bethelite during this time and I can assure you, they locked the doors and instructed us to not let anyone in behind us that we did not recognize. They provided additional "security" at all entrances to double-check ID's.
We were told to not even go out to our meetings (no subway, so it would have been tough anyway). I do know that they donated (or loaned) construction equipment to aid with efforts, but there was NO major movement to send people to the area affected to provide real help. And we were specifically told not to go ourselves, that our work at bethel was more important.
The food and water being passed out was not to victims, but to police and firefighters who were coming across the bridge.
And of course it was whispered around bethel that an event like this could set off the start of hte great tribulation. puke.

so, i actually stopped at two different tables that i saw.
the first was 2 elderly men - they were so sweet and open to discuss.

Good for you AuntBee! Amazing how their true colors comoe out if you do anything other than thank them for the magazines and beg for a study. If it is outside of the box from their platform demonstrations most of them freak out and have no idea what to do. I hope others saw her freak out on you and know to avoid this cult.

i know jehovah's witnesses can have firearms for defense, but does the church ever attempt to set guidelines on the use of deadly force?
also, are there jurisdictions in the church where handgun ownership is frowned upon?.

I have lots of guns now (didn't have any until I started fading a few years ago. A lot of witnesses in my area frown on them, but I have heard several say something to the effect of "If things get bad and we get attacked I'm going to puff's house" Ha! Yes, I will just open up my door and let them in...
