Thank you everyone, sorry it took so long to say that - lots of visitors at home and no time to do anything but entertain!
Of course now we have to get planning....
...to my boyfriend, we're going to have one of those weddings ('gay' weddings to the straights).. although my jw family know i'm gay, and not going to meetings, only one of my sisters has sussed the situation.
but i think after 3 years it's about time i told them.
especially if sometime in the future i'll turn up with a (gay) wedding ring.

Especially if sometime in the future I'll turn up with a (gay) wedding ring. But also because getting married is such a hefty decision (a bit like a baptism, only generally done when above the age of majority), I feel like I have to choose which master I am slaving for (clearly Dorothy).
Funny, because I never thought marriage (gay or otherwise) was particularly important, perhaps it's my subconcious forcing me to make a decision to leave the witnesses once and for all...
an average of five kingdom halls being constructed daily, almost 8 million brothers and sisters, dissemination of bible literature in 595 languages, 111,795 congregations worldwide, distribution of 179 million bibles available in 116 languages, 239 countries where jehovah's witnesses have a presence, etc.. need i go on?.
on the other hand........... crisis of conscience, freeminds, the awaa, jw.net, ummmmmm........hmmm........idk six screens or something?
not exactly working out for you guys.
Why are we feeding the troll people?!
Either SFPW is genuine and is a 'faithful' witness (who has ignored the counsel about apostate sites and doubts his god's ability to deal with us without his (SPFW's) help)
OR they are mischief-making and/or attention seeking. Either way, we should probably just ignore them.
that text reminds me of one of a handful of problems peculiar to the ex-jw community.
second only to the wild beast's internal divisions, is the divided makeup of the ex-jw populace.
you know the one thing that indicates jehovah's blessing upon the worldwide association of kingdom proclaimers, is not only the continued success of the preaching work, but along with it the unity and love amongst the brothers and sisters.
You're all united? Like in the have-nothing-to-do-with-apostates sense of united?
ok i think its time i introduce myself... and sorry, its going to be verrry long.. .
i am 32, married, 2 children.
i am french but i live in scotland.. .
Bienvenue!
told my husband to put a muzzle on my mouth over the blood dogma.
we all were driving around in field service when the topic of "which fragments would you take if you were in a car accident or cut yourself badly".
said his choice is a personal one, another sister with chronic health problems said she had no problem with the governing body's new light on taking various fragments.
Kudos to you Aunt Connie! Very brave.
In the UK, where I was brought up, as a gay man I was prohibited from giving blood anyway, with or without the needed tests, so this never really occurred to me! I may use it myself.
This reminds me of when there was talk (not sure if it was based on a magazine) about Dubs not being policemen or firemen because it was putting our own lives at risk (for worldlies I guess) even my sister pointed out that we had absolutely no right to call them to help if we refused to be them.
I wonder how many witness firemen and police there actually are, and how many give blood!!
i made my first post yesterday on an earlier topic about celebrating holidays.
just lois invited me to introduce myself.....hi jl.
where to start?
Welcome KWJoe,
"Celibacy was not my strong suit", - HA! Mine neither, especially when I passed a cruising ground on my way to work every morning, and again on the way home.
Enjoy the site.

OK, just watched the video. Actually taking the bible into the BBC studio?? Talk about not helping the viewers change their minds about dubs being overzealous bible-bashers.

His Mum and Dad were in my old congregation, although I never met him, he was brought up in conversation enough to make me feel as though I had.
If what is said here about him and his brother I can confirm he must take after his mother, whilst Gordon is probably more his father's son.
Dour is not the word....

Hi Andysmiles, Welcome! We had a gay stand in CO once. He LOVED the single MS and pioneers in the hall...(although I fancied none of them) I too am gay, have left (although not DF'd)and I don't regret it at all. Leaving because I fell in love with my partner was the start of my looking for and finding the truth about the truth (TTATT) and although I am still growing and searching for answers, sometimes down a dead-end, I do not regret for one minute being true to myself and my sexual orientation. Prayer doesn't work. The spirit does not appoint anyone. If you need professional help, a good counsellor will do you no end of good. Feel free to PM if you'd like to chat more. frogonmytoe
