I think what is a stake for them here is that their claim that the appointments are made by holy spirit would crumble, and that would have a knock out effect all the way up to the GB, as they approve all appointments. That would open the door for witnesses to start criticising other elder’s decisions.

In my last congregation, I felt the elders and even the last CO were working hard to open my eyes to the TTATT, I didn't understand their behaviour, but this may be an explanation.
They definitely should be watching their backs. A system based on lies and faking, can be infiltrated much easier that one based on honesty. They are being sabotaged from the inside.

Losthobbit, I really wish that a more just type of world were possible, I am still reading through all the links.
I also prefer to work in something that matters than just working for the money but I recognize not everybody thinks like that. The biggest obstacle I see for a better world to be possible is that not everybody wants it, some are quite content as it is, and others want it, but their concept of justice is not necessarily what others consider just.
I will post again when I have gone through all the material. Thanks for the links.

How dare this lawyer say that he doesn’t know of any other religion that was made liable for the r&f actions? They abhor child abuse but their policies allow for it, and for other abuses. Their main difference with other religions is that they have much more power over the private lives of the r&f, and take it upon themselves the keeping the congregation clean by disciplining sinners.
They have no problem humiliating a person from the platform for marrying a worldly person, or complaining about an injustice, rather than suffering in silence modestly with a submissive attitude to the ass****’s running the congregation, but at the same time they will go to great lengths to cover for each other’s miseries in order to keep their privileges, or as in this case to cover for a paedophile. They are vicariously liable for what this pervert did as they knew he was a paedophile, and they are responsible for other abuses as they have so much control over every aspect of the lives of active witnesses, including very private aspects. And they are very capable of dealing quite harshly with anyone that steps out of line in other issues in which they shouldn’t be sticking their noses into.

Is being politically neutral being really apolitical? Would a majority of apolitical people not have a political effect in a society? Is being apolitical really not taking a political stance?
We all have our god, whether is Jehovah, Buda, Ala, money, power, reason….atheists have also their own gods, whatever they choose them to be.
The point I was trying to make is that Christianity is going down in big numbers, and former Christians are now choosing another set of values to live by, call it a religion or a philosophy of life.
Religion shape our values, and the absence of it does also. Even if atheism is not a religion in the literal sense of the word, for me atheism is like a religion because it takes the place religion used to have as people’s motivating factor.
The absence of religion is the philosophy that is growing the fastest in Western countries and as a consequence, societies are now shaped by the different gods different people choose to have, and the values these gods bring with them. That’s what I was trying to say.

My father is an elder and he would discuss cases of the congregation at home with us without mentioning the names, we are not the secret police.
You can actually correct a brother’s comment if you do it discreetly.
The congregation is much better now, a lot of people is gone (to me after I left).
Even if this was not the truth it would still be the best way to live.

I think is atheism. Christianity is not only a religion, it is a culture and historical heritage and the foundation of what we know as the Western civilization. Atheism has not produced happier or freer societies or individuals.

I think the reason why ex-jws tend to become atheists is probably because the WT does such a great job at emptying a person of their spirituality. As humans we all have a spiritual dimension, but spirituality has nothing to do with pioneering, giving comments at the meetings, making many return calls, or humbly accepting any doctrine or policy they promote without questioning it. But this is what spirituality is for them. The WT god is the organization.
They also destroy a person emotionally on different levels, don’t have independent thinking, pride (as in questioning the elders), don’t trust your own heart, follow orders even if you don’t agree (be submissive), etc. So once somebody gets fed up of all this crap and leaves, he will naturally be apprehensive about religion and God.
If you didn’t manage to keep a sense of spirituality apart from all the rubbish they taught you, once you free yourself from them, you will also stop believing in God, as all along you were dealing with a false god, their organization. Nothing to do with true spirituality. It is an evil and destructive cult.
You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. (not enslave you) John 8:32
