Close friend recently disfellowshipped.
by Emery injust recently i had a very close friend call to notify me of their future disfellowshipping.
i felt such sadnesss by their phone call as they seemed pretty shook up and were desperately pleading their repentance over the phone so i wouldn't think critically of them.
i immediately reassured that person that i still loved and cherished them greatly regardless of their status, i would be there whenever they needed me.

Hi Emery, it depends how well you know this person and their circumstances, but if you really care about them, tell them TTATT, and save them all the anguish they are going through right now.
Listen in a non-judgemental way, and compare to them the way they were treated with the way Jesus treated his followers, and then keep adding other inconsistencies of the organization to future conversations. I am sure you wont run out of them.
I hope they don’t come back, and that they can make a good life for themselves out of this abusive/hypocritical/insane cult. The same for you.

This system is not all bad.
by Inisc inhi, everyone.. for many jws all they ever hear about is how wicked the world is and how it has gotten even worse lately.
the media does not help either.. and even for many ex jws who still have family who are still in, we have to listen to all that doom and gloom about the end of this system.. but, i would just like to recommend a website i found, (not sure if that violates jwn rules) .
its not religious at all, but is a news source of many heartwarming stories and news articles from all over the world that show just how wonderful life and and people can be.. i find it's a great antidote to remind us that the whole world is not wicked and in fact wickedness is still in the minority!.

I believe if you sow a field of wheat, this is what you are going to reap. If an enemy comes at night and plants something else, you will also reap that.
Lesson: don‘t allow any enemy near your fields.
If it is any consolation to you, all he will ever reap are bad weeds.
If he had good wheat himself, he wouldn’t occupy himself sowing anything in somebody else’s field in the first place. He would spend the night sleeping happily.

Is the Governing Body EVIL or IGNORANT?
by cedars insome of you will have noticed that i've been paying a lot of attention to the governing body recently.
this is because most jehovah's witnesses venerate them collectively (even if they can't name them individually), and i feel this makes it important to understand this group of men properly and expose their mindset as individuals.
as the saying goes, i feel it's important to "know your enemy".. i realize it's very convenient to think of the governing body as being "evil" when we consider that they are ultimately responsible for all the damaging jw teachings and beliefs.
