  Jws don't really have "communities" or "functions" like churches do?

  i've noticed how this religion is kind of narrow.

  all they ever do is preach, study the watchtower, or their meeting or convention.

  no other organized functions that i know of.

  You all are correct in that it is not a open function. But it is a get together here and in other areas there are regular kids nights, rock climbing (inside), swimming ( inside) due to weather, the get togethers are usually in a rented hall with kitchen facilities and brought in audio for the music... pot luck and basically a "get together" and I do know that this is not the case in some areas due to certain Co's and their closed outlook.. mostly a power trip.. but it does happen here and its too bad this is not the norm in all areas, I believe folks do need an outlet to just be "normal" Other times it is on personal property -- bbq's, music and "gossip"... dare I say and this does happen several times per year and has for past many years.

  ANd don't forget the international visitors are treated with music and dancing within and outside halls in many places... special people??? I think so, cause it would never take place in a hall here. Double standards...

  Sorry to burst your bubble... yes they do get togethers several times a year, music, cards, pot lucks good time had by all and they even dance and put on skits not bible related

  Argentina? Where Hitler and his gang were supposed to flee too? A gated community being built by an outside company? Well, if they had volunteers, they would know all about the location and news would spread.. is this a go to location if it gets too hot? Is there money that can be channeled to Argentia/ or has been? Someone suggested a few billion is missing, however that was verified, I don't know... but it does raise questions when this type of community is getting an extraordinary huge complex built... only the best!!! With publishers monies....

  these two verses indicate that "others" were preaching in jesus' name and when the apostles reported it to him, he said "let him alone for he who is with us is not against us".... since the wtbts states they are the only way to salvation, what does this scripture mean?

  others have the right to salvation as well - straight from jesus' mouth- as long as they preach ( in the verse it says expel demons as well) using jesus name?

  If you look at countries were a ban is on, Muslim countries, -(growing at a rate of 32%)

  you are looking at 35% of earths population ( estimate )that has not "heard" of Jw's. This is not a world wide preaching work- impossible! So they upbuild the congregations by calling it a name that is a MISNOMER.

  According to PEW Research 2017 - earth population was 7.7 billion - deducting Russia, China, NK, Phillipines, just some of banned areas we see 3.1 billion where bans are occurring, ( there are more) leaving a total that receive the" good news" of 2.8 billion. For the WTBTS to say the good news is a worldwide work and needs money to continue is incorrect. For there to be ONLY 281,744 baptized in 2017 (and mostly born in at a tender age) with 8.5 million ?? doing the work, does not make sense.

  When I was baptized, the 2nd question was asked was belief in the father, the son and the holy spirit. Now, it is the father, the son and Gods directed spirit ORGANIZATION-- this is NOT what scripture is all about. So does that make my baptism wrong? Can I get a scriptural divorce? Does it make the new question invalid? I would definitely say "Yes"-- the society sucks new ones into a system of massive fraud. The Amway business model, bring in the new ones to sell the product and build a money train.

  No letter read yet.. And this is the 17th. However, some news in Canada that halls are being sold and congregations being combined/cut starting from the west to the east... Seeing that Montreal has swallowed up 16 congregations, haven't heard how many were out west, but if anyone has numbers for BC, Sask, Manitoba, Alberta please make a note so a track can be kept.

  That is called "straining the gnat" I believe..... so many congregations have different ideas.. one sister I was speaking about said the society said people worship the Christmas tree. Previously I was in the world and did not worship the "tree".. It was pretty, that was it. and she argued that is the stand the society took, I told her it was wrong - no worship of the tree was in my house. She was adamant, but so was I - quiet times.
