by liam inusa politicians in charge of the economy for the past 50 years were too stupid to understand how the economy works.
this just proves my theory, that an education on the top tier universities just sucks and means nothing in the real world, unless its in the stem education.
for 50 years usa had zero tariffs on other countries.

Anonymous- US citizens have been coming to Canada in busloads to get their prescriptions filled because it was cheaper than US was charging them, putting a strain on Canadian supplies. This was going on for years. I just checked the list of tariffs items and no mention of medicines. Here is an explanation off the news--The FDA announcement underlines the appalling gulf in drug prices between the United States and other developed nations. Pharmaceutical prices in the United States overall are more than two-and-a-half times higher than those of our peers, with manufacturers charging nearly three-and-a-half times more for brand-name drugs.
Not only are costs egregiously higher in the United States, but American patients are more exposed to those costs than their counterparts in other rich countries, as over twenty-five million people have no health insurance, and even those who do often pay steep out-of-pocket costs.
So I guess there may be a charge but albeit a minor one compared to USA drug charges.

Look this is and has been for years a scheme to get properties donated, congregation paid off the build , pay mortgage for years, then turn over the deed to the corporation. They and only they have the right to sell when market is high in an area. It's a game and they play it well, Amway, you buy their product, (land)you sell the product,(truth) you bring others in to support and sell product(baptism), build a distribution area,(door to door) bring in more people (service/baptism ), commissions (deeds) go to the top - a triangle with those at the top holding all the resources and monies. SLAVE LABOUR. Meanwhile several years back, the org did away with paying off a loan mortgage for a hall. We thought hey great, we now own the hall outright. But no, then a meeting was help to ask pubs to make a monthly contribution for the rest of their lives to take its place- another sucker game but hey, blessed by GB , so that was a help. Then another contribution on top to defray costs of insurance and ww work. Never ending call for money when you see only a few halls being built as they promised. Lot of reno's- and now they till want cong to pay for that- but now the devastations could be the next big win for the org. General funds go a long way for everything but then there are their stocks and investments - JW/ billion dollar corp.

I cannot get over the non seriousness of Elderberry. How long have you been in the org? How long an elder? Your responses are mostly off the cuff, no deep thought, just that everything is ok, easy going, so what.
Do you realize what those who have been in the org for years see you as? Someone who can take their total life as they know it, and ruin it with a 3 man committee. If not them then their child, who may have been raped by another elder or ms. Have you handled such a case? Do you know an elder in Pennsylvania just got 30 years for raping two children? So far the number is up to 14 in jail and one committed suicide so he would not have to stand in court. The State of Pennsylvania is heavily into finding out ALL congregations records so as to reveal more cases. Are you aware? Cause all this board of POMO PIMAS are very well aware.
You make it so laid back but deep down there are so many issues that you do not seem to relate to. I think you have a long way to go with the smiling, cheerful faces that greet you, yet may be grumbling behind you back if you are not being a hands on elder, coasting along with a clique in the congregation, not calling on them at home, not visiting the sick at home or in hospital, shepherding work, not helping a widow or lonely one in the congregation. There are many aspects to being a in depth full time elder- a responsibility Jehovah gave you to carryout fully.
You really sound like you are new, a social media type, who is very light on responsibility. And do not really work hard in research to know what the depth of the truth as the org calls it, really is.

Oh does that bring back memories. In my area there is a second hand store with tons of clothing from the US- Frenchys and NO ONE should have been shopping there. Anything cast off may contain demons. You would not find a witness going into one, but ohoh an elders wife was first in line, every morning and wore the best. AT the same time it was a wrong thing to do. Demons were high on the list- even a TIME magazine had a report on it and the org followed up on that as a scare tactic. However I liked the clothes, most of them directly from retailers with tags on them. My mate would not go into one until I started bringing home shirts of top quality, brand new- that did it! HE was first to say "let's go to Frenchys". The closet was full of them(shirts) and believe it or not, he became an elder and a Frenchys addict. I just threw that in for a laugh. To this day, this outlet is still there along with Value Village- who overcharges and I visit very little but I have spotted some bargains.

So currently being of sound mind and body,( I think I am) I do not believe there is a person on earth who thinks they will be able to stay where they are if any crisis hits, let alone the GT. I was so wanting to make the 2000 mile trip to Walkill,( and all the other grand communities) knowing that the GB was building great escape hotels for all those brothers and sisters and families- to be able to have a relief center for the displaced and their go bags. I guess its like the recent ""While the Rest us Die" movie I saw recently on Tubi -where there are bunkers and government officials will dive into them when nukes start falling- to leave everyone else out in the cold. It's just too much to think of but the society drums on it endlessly, as though they will save those brothers and sisters in faraway places They do mention riches-( trust not in riches) guess why? More donations for the WWW due to the oncoming battle.

Liam: take it from the members onboard who are older and more experienced.
In no way would Serena be condoned for her actions. you, being in your 20's have indeed dodged a bullet. Years ago, it was mandatory for a man to wear a suit and tie with a white shirt only. No sports jackets, no color shirts. Women to dress modestly. If one was rumored to be having an affair, elders or certain ones in the congregation took to peeping in windows to try and catch them. Large gathering of kids not allowed. Hard to even have a party for kids and young adults- many were cancelled when found out. Meetings three times a week, children and wife in subjection- study for meetings took time and effort. NO such thing as a computer to check things out- everything by the book- their book. Service mandatory. Comments were listened to closely and if you gave an answer that could be taken as a slur against the org. you could be hauled up by a committee of three men. Raked over the coals, and told not to do so again. Total subjection to a massive org that behind closed doors were gaining power and real estate at the expense of the congregations. At the same time, child abuse was going on while org burned all other religions for doing the same thing and that the org was the only true religion. It is a bait and switch program- study and learn about God then obey the organization as God speaks only to the GB. So there is a lot more but gives you an idea of the great time you missed.

Since they were tacking a scripture from Timothy onto the gathering of those 18-21 as newbie elder and ms, the qualifications state they should be married in that scripture- and in 2014 put it in a confidential to elders that stated one of the requirements was that his wife and any children are good examples. So the question is, are they asking them to marry as well? Other requirements that seemed to be overlooked in this memo to the congregation is he is to be of sufficient age, life experienced, his marriage is scriptural. There are many more factors in the 2014 guidelines that now seem to be thrown out of the window.

Please, please let it go through. It's time. This no tax goes back to medieval times - people have been subject to threats from their priests/ministers/ elders - to pay or go to hell. JW same - hands up! another announcement for funds and Jehovahs blessing on you. God forbid no one opposes! "We are doing the only worldwide work - just build another hall with benches in Africa."
