God's Wife
by truthlover123 inaccording to scripture, god has a wife -israel.
he is her husband/husbandly owner.. the nation was cast off but jehovah said he would never leave israel.
that being said, jesus spoke of israel as a spiritual nation and the 144,000 to be picked from both israel and the nations (to fulfill the number) who were to be king priests with him.

NBD- are God and Jesus going to share?
Stan: many places - but only part would -- Paul, Barnabas and Peter were prophets to the nations:
Acts 9:15 13:46,47 14:27 15:7-9,12,17,19 there are more but it gives you some info
Also in Old Testament Jeremiah 1:5 - he was foreordained to be prophet to the nations
The full number to come in from both Israel and nations is told at Romans 11:25-- the whole chapter 11 is very interesting

That being said, Jesus spoke of Israel as a spiritual nation and the 144,000 to be picked from both Israel and the nations (to fulfill the number) who were to be king priests with Him. So if Jehovah was speaking about the spiritual Israel, not the earthly nation of Israel, who does the 144,000 spiritual Israelites belong to?
Not relating to the number ( be it literal or not) just the idea behind it all.....
Any ideas??

Classic Talk Regarding KH Consolidation
by lepermessiah inlast night i was listening in as my spouse was on the phone line.
there was a big "local needs" talk announced and it was speculated to be about the congregation reshuffling.. that ended up to be the case.
i thought i used to lay it on thick from the platform....... this was the ultimate spin job - worthy of political office or a spot on the governing body.. one thing that stood out "while the numbers may not necessarily indicate it, it is clear jehovah is speeding up the work".

I took a little time last night and did an overview of the years from 2012 to 2017 and found that the number baptized was 1,630,722 - amazing!! I would say 50% minimum were born ins.
I then took the average publisher numbers from that time and based on what the average publisher is in 2017, the difference missing is 920,734 because the difference from 2012 to 2017 is only 709,988 showing some growth.. where did the rest go???
That is a short 5 year period.... even though they show increases year to year, overall there is a huge loss and it cannot be contributed to deaths. Look at the number of elderly on the floors each assembly -- and those in the seats above that are in their 40-60's range...
The org has drained the pubs for years and for the 2012 Annual meeting to state they have no hole in the ceiling when it comes to knowing anything and they need thousands of kingdom halls to accommodate the GROWING CROWD- the only way the numbers explain that is to show congregations are growing - but sadly they do not (scarcasm) show the brick and mortar locations as they are combining congregations to 2 -3 congs per hall and selling off the assembly and meeting halls.
Wake up those still in - there is a contracting of bodies -(and buildings) this is no different than scientology who own more real estate and have more money than the Vatican ( not really) but close!

The Constant Mindchatter After You Leave
by pale.emperor ini've been out almost 2 years now and consider myself wide awake to watchtower propaganda and well on my way to recovery from the mental abuse we've all experienced.. one thing that just will not go is that i constantly think of jwism and watchtower and get myself all annoyed at their lies and blatant twisting of facts in their broadcasts and magazines.
it's so bad that it's the first thing i think of when i wake up, then i have these mental arguments in my head proving the jw teachings false and then getting annoyed because no jw will listen even if you tried to tell them.
i call this constant thinking and mental reasoning and mental arguing "mindchatter".

It very sad..we watch what the nazis did to children -- any religion knows to get them young,, its the parents who are stupid--I was. Going to a regular church that does not load repetition but you still know right from wrong, doesn't seem so bad now.......My son has not had anything to do with it since he was 14 and is now 51 and he absolutely hates the organization but still has a belief in God ... the creation, etc. but anything else and he is ready to throw someone off the steps.. The family turned their back on him as he was not baptized-- he is so angry with them-they are JWs... those he called uncle, who worked for his father, gone but living in same area... I am torn, I don't know how to comfort him and he is alone with the exception of myself. He maintains he cannot have a regular relationship as "thoughts" creep back in again, the teachings he can't ignore...like a looping tape..Personally those who I have called sister and close friends have their own issues so we are in a situation where it comes down to life is life - live it and know that death will eventually come and what is after that is anyones guess.

May I ask for help about Egyptian chronology and Neolithic settlements?
by paradiseseeker inone of the first things that shook my faith as a teenager was learning about egypt and how its history goes back as far as 3500 bc, much earlier than the flood.
also learning about the first settlements like çatalhöyük, which flourished around 7500 bc, much earlier than the creation of adam.
the only answer i got from my mother was that this world is dominated by satan and thus we cannot trust in worldly chronologies.

THis was an issue Ray Franz had in compiling the blue Aid to Bible Knowledge book..he found by visiting museums and speaking with so many archeologists, etc. in the field that dates were really out of range and took the information to the GB who summarily got rid of him over a period of time.. reason -- flood, 1914, Jesus return, etc... all of which and more---the WT faith is built... it would have devastated the great crowd of other sheep........same applies today they do not falter on dates, giving pivotal points of 538 ce 609 ce and 70 ce as times to start counting backwards to reach flood date, etc....citing Daniel as pointing forward to Jesus arrival...

References to YHWH in ancient documents
by Doug Mason inpage 15 of awake!
2017 provides an image that shows hebrew writing with the statement: “the personal name of god written in ancient hebrew characters appears abundantly in early manuscripts of the bible”.. alongside that image, the awake!
provides a listing to show “the rendering of ‘god’s name’ in various languages”.. the facts do not support either assertion that the watchtower society makes:.

Could'nt get thru all replies so this may or may not have been suggested.... if you take a look at ancient hebrew, each letter of their alphabet is representative of a star constellation...just type in that info and the pages of backup will show
So when the bible says no dealings with astrology, it appears that this "perfect" language is indeed from the stars....
this could be a crock but looks legitimate

At least Candace Conti got something- she originally only sued for $1,440.00 She wanted these terrible situations brought to the courts as the WTBTS looks on media as fake news written by apostates.
I was astonished with the recent book/bible study rehashing how the society won all these cases in all different lands by finding mistakes in the countries charters and amendments, etc. and giving praise to Jehovah for doing it... Will Jehovah be happy when they win these cases?? I don't think so

question of the day does a religious org have the right to hold confidential info on one of its members
by poopie inwithout there permission ?.

truthlover123
In Canada, everyone has to sign a document with their doctor, dentist, accountant, drug store called Privacy Act.
Maybe that is why Trey is having such a hard time getting information because it is primarily understood that the WTBTS does not have to turn abuse information over to lawyers and courts???
Just a thought.
I believe if a crime is committed, the privacy of that person is out the window- especially against children who are brought up to trust their "brothers and sisters"....joke - No one can be trusted with your kids but unfortunately some parents are the ones who are abusing...
