it seems that there is much anger on this place.
in my country we do not understand the manifestation of hostility manifested on a public board.
if some of these people do not calm down, they might be next terrorists in news.

women say jehovah's witnesses downplay sex abuse.
http://www.tennessean.com/local/archives/02/05/17601862.shtml?element_id=17601862.
two middle tennessee women said they have a full understanding of a tullahoma woman's claim that the jehovah's witnesses organization has downplayed or ignored child sexual abuse for years.. ''in fact, nothing happened to the man who molested me,'' said melissa trice, 30, of spring hill, about an incident she says occurred in shelbyville 22 years ago.. ''one of the elders asked me, 'what were you wearing?
Reasoning which is a natural product of a religion which is born of a dominant self-serving patriarchal society (as are 99% of religions).
Such societies are by definition run by men who exibit the worst traits associated with their gender and therefore victimize women, children, and the decent members of their own gender (i.e. the majority of other men).
these articles most likely have previously been posted, one is from 2000 but i'm posting them in response to "dead lambs" in the may 15, 2002 friends forum....as the articles are from a news database, i don't have any links...... (yes, i edited and changed this, you're not losing it....).

If you think about it really the blood thing really makes no sense, I mean its supposed to be about the importance of blood pertaining to an animal who had died. Why? Because the life is in the blood, it's sacred, belongs to jehovah, should be poured out ... If were talking about blood from a living donor its obviously a different thing, presumably they are still alive . . . I haven't heard of them draining corpses for viable plasma have you?
i have recently met a wonderful man.
he is a jw, and has been all 25 years of his life.
i am not, and have not even known any all of my life.
Dear Pad,
He'll probly be all right with seeing you if you start up a bible study! Then you can check him and the religion out at the same time. Who knows you may make the ideal witness wife (if you're the submissive type you're a shoe-in)!
You'll learn something about him, something about J.W. culture and maybe even something new about yourself in the process! Everyone's happy right?
Just don't tell him you were talking to us. Okay?
when jesus was on earth the devil approached him quoting scripture in order to tempt and entrap him.
it is no wonder then that the apostate angel would be behind the effort to use the scriptures against jehovahs people today in order to mislead them.
one of the most cunning and effective uses of scripture against us by satans agents is the charge that we are false prophets.
You Know, you're funny . . . you know?
recently jehovah has provided new light to the organization regarding personal conduct during the meetings.. an increasing number of our brothers and sisters have not focused their attention completely on the material being presented at the meetings.
these distractions have caused a few to lose out on the life-saving food given at the 'proper time'.. in view of such matters, a new position in the congregation has been established.
following the loving directions of proverbs 12:1, a congregation disciplinary servant will now monitor all brothers and sisters to ensure they are paying full attention.. no doubt, many wonder what christian duties the new disciplinary servants will be blessed with.
That's a joke right? I'm sure its a joke
most people are familiar with the account of job where satan makes the claim that the only reason humans serve god is because of selfish reasons.
god allowed satan to test this theory on job, so job was beset by numerous trials but he refused to give up on god or blame him in anyway.. it would appear that satan was proved wrong in this particular bible account but was he really?
would the majority of mankind follow jobs example if they were faced with similar trials?
I think some of the original scriptures were in the library at Alexandria, they kept them in the fiction section.
The human mind is an amazing and terrifying thing, you can justify anything, twist logic around to suit any purpose if you want to believe it enough. That much should be apparent to anyone. We all can have spiritual experiences and visions etc. if we seek them hard enough. The interesting thing is that if you are predisposed to some particular belief the vision you are granted will almost certainly be something you expect . . . i.e. buddhists see buddha, christians see christ (or the devil), people that believe in E.T's see aliens etc. etc. etc.
We are ALL privy to the 'spiritual' world whatever that is. The problem arises when someone 'spiritually' focused and privy to a 'vision' starts writing about it and then DOESN'T STOP WHEN THEY SHOULD, they try to tie it into the society they live in and justify conditions there and in there own minds. Example, patriarchal societies always come up with 'god' given reasons for oppression of women, and the list goes on. The majority of everything you read that is supposedly holy scripture reflects the society it came from and the faults of the writers themselves as well. Ninety-nine percent of every 'holy' book is fiction.
Does it ever occur to anybody to [i]think for themselves[i/]?!? Why do people think they are obliged to believe what
[i/]somebody else tells them[i/] about the meaning of it all, just because millions of other people did? If you think that increases your chances of a theory being right just remember . . . it only takes ONE lemming to lead thousands of others off the cliff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I get my (exclamation) point across? What is more, what makes a person think that ONE person knows better than the ONE person they are?!? Here's a big hint . . . NO ONE DOES!!! But if someone is comfortable with stronger odds maybe a good thing would be to study up a bit on all belief systems and see if there is a common denominator. I have studied a bit and I have seen one common denominator and you know what that is? LOVE.
LOVE.
Oh, and the golden rule, even wiccans and pagans witches metaphysists why, everyone I have read about whatsoever believe in the golden rule. If every one would just relax and look inside THEMSELVES in some quiet moment I believe they will feel the ultimate knowledge that 'everything is all right', theres nothing to worry about. IT WILL BE OKAY. Every day we wake up with one choice, we can choose to be happy or choose to be miserable and frightened. Cultivate happiness, shun fear. Get outside and smell the roses, look at how the sunlight shimmers through the trees in the late afternoon. Enjoy the earth, appreciate people with all their quirks. If we all would do that what kind of a world do you think this would be?

don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this it certainly isn't a jw belief and i don't believe in believing (much of anything), but i'm always theorizing always speculatin' and heres a particular speculation i've been hypothesizing for some while now, something a really powerful post in this forum inspired me to throw out here for your perusal.
whatever the reaction, your sure to have one!.
think about this, you know suffering, struggling, forging on .

WHAT IF WE ARE THE CHRIST??!!??
Think about this, you know suffering, struggling, forging on . . . what if we each individually and as a collective WHOLE of physical beings are THE CHRIST?
Further, what if that were true and not only were we redeeming ourselves but in some unknown cosmic equation (the spiritual separation of yin-yang perhaps . . . somehow the resolution of that) we were the factor in the equation necessary for the spirit world to continue? Wouldn't that be wild, wouldn't that be a horse of an entirely different color?!
What's more would that make us Satan AND Christ?
I'm already pretty sure were God, why not be all three?
(I just threw in that Satan part but I guess if the first part were true that would be too)
Besides the expected barrage of denunciations I'd love to hear from those of you intested in, or capable of, speculation on such a possibility . . . what would be the implications of that? Think about it, just think about it for a minute, I promise you won't be struck by lightning or spontaneously combust (at least I haven't yet).
Hmmmmm, I wonder. . .

Hello all, referred here from ex-jw pagans site. Looks pretty active and interesting, far too late for any witty rapport on my part but hello just the same!
