in wts pubs we always here the experiences like:.
1) dub gets job because of honesty.
2) dub praying for something and just get it next day.
12 years ago, when I was an 18-year-old JW, I stole money from my JW roommate. I got caught, paid restitution & apologized to her.
I had an abortion when I was 18 (baby's father was also a JW).
Funny... now that I'm no longer a Dub and have become a *true* Christian, I feel more remorse than I ever did as a JW.

they were not only using a domain name and header name that denotes a conection with the actual watchtower society, but where using it to blasphem the jehovah's true organization in order to help people break away.
Ah, an emissary of Jehovah's loving organization has stopped by to encourage us.What a fine reflection he is on the organization and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. I can see the members of the public openly lauding his fine debating skills and linguistic prowess as he shines the light of the True Faith for all to see.

i was trying to fade, and thought i had done so successfully for the past 18months.. i have just received a call from my dad saying it will be announced tomorrow that i have been disfellowshipped... can they do this???.

Wow, they've gotten militant since I left! I haven't heard anything from my sister about this re: me (the last meeting I ever attended was when they announced my reinstatement). I wasn't aware that there had been any changes in this area.

the pat answer has always been, "those people didn't keep pace with god's chariot" and they weren't "strong in the truth" and allowed something so "minor" to "stumble" them.

WRT the Watchtower study -- think about it: by the time you get to the Watchtower study, the average pub has read the article at least 3 times -- once when they received the new issue, once to prepare for FS and again when studying for the Study. They're already indoctrinated lemmings.
I would never buy a car based solely on the marketing/sales literature at the dealership... I never cease to be amazed by how many dubs just listen to watever FDS says without any question. It makes you wonder if there are any JWs that are of above-average intelligence -- if they were really that intelligent, they would have LEFT already! I think that many stay b/c of family.

The "New Light" and the change of the interpretation of the "this generation" timeframe was the straw that broke this camel's back. I would love to know if there is any information/articles that indicate the number of JWs who left after that; any indication in JW literature or info online? TIA.

ITA! I remember at my high school graduation party, my mom said, "When you were born ('75) I thought the new system would be here before your first day of Kindergarten!"
She made a similar comment after my wedding (2000)... I wonder if she's started to "get it" yet... but that's doubtful. She's not very bright...

had a bizzare experience last night.
i went to see the movie mr. and mrs. smith (which, by the way, was pretty decent).
my girlfriend and i showed up about 20 minutes before the show started, so we picked out some seats and then each went to the restroom in turn while the other watched the seats.
