To the US Military
by freedom96 inthere have been many postings regarding the possible war with iraq.
there are many strong apposing views, as to be expected.. i personally am going to thank all those who are in the military; my hat is off to you, and i respect what you do, and i am very thankful.
you are the ones that must go out there and defend our freedoms.. i don't think most people desire war, but sometimes there seems to be little choice.

hello dakota,
what exactly is the point of hitler statement? by the way...i think he had 30% of the votes or something like that...and used the burning of the parliament to seize control....after that there was another election where ne nazis miracously got 95% or so.
of course democracy is the best way of rulership...but in the US you have in reality only 2 parties...and the politics of these two parties is very similar and mainly controled by industrial lobbies. Nader has no chnace because of the structure of the US 'democracy'.
do you think the US is targeted by arab extrimists because of its foreign politics or because the US is a free country?

Reality check: World less happy about America
by Pathofthorns infacinating results from a global poll relating to public opinions of america in various countries around the world.. a major survey on international opinion released in washington yesterday shows u.s. popularity has plunged across much of the world amid mounting perceptions that the united states is running roughshod over other nations.
the planet's sole superpower commands only tepid affection, just as the u.s. government struggles to win international support for a possible military incursion against iraq as the next stage in its war on terrorism.. in fact, the prospect of a u.s.-led offensive aimed at overthrowing iraqi dictator saddam hussein has become a major irritant between washington and even its closest allies.. .

iwasyoungonce,
9/11 was only about the US...as long as the arabs are not attacking japan or europe i see no indication otherwise.
the government elected by the people decides how much social security is required.
>>I am in perfect health and I work for myself<<...exactly...if you get sick you are screwed...unless you are a very wealthy.
the problem is that the US 'welfare' system sucks...there is a much larger percentage of poor people in the US than in the EU. this is also a reason for the much higher crime rate (3-4 times as high as in europe).

The Watchtower January 15th 1983 Issue, Page 27:
"....some who point out that the organization has had to make some adjustments before, and so they argue: "This shows that we have to make up our own mind on what to believe." This is independent thinking. Why is it so dangerous?"
LOL what an unbelievable statement!!!

oh please...
europe is doing well without getting involved with military power all over the world. the arabs would do buisness with the US anyways...ok they might dictate the oil price partially but in my opinion thats not a justification for military interventions.
do you really think the US would be overrun if they don't interven in the whole world? i think the US industry is strong enough to do without that.
about the US bringing a better life to most people...i have to strongly disagree with that. for whom did the US make life better? indians? germans? vietnamese? iraqis? south americans? cubans? whom?

what happens if the u.n. searchs iraq and they find nothing?
i mean it's kind of scary to think what will happen to bush's job approval rating if that happens.

well let me say first that in my opinion the UN is a huge pile of BS...useless burocracy.
now comes the funny part...in my opinion its BS because its a tool of the US.
the US uses the UN to disguise its activities...
was there ever a resolution passed that had any influence on israel? NO...why not? because the US stops anything directed against israel.
about the territories...it doesn't matter if the arab territories were their own official state...it is inhabited by people who have lifed there for 1000 years and who don't want the jews controling their lifes...its there land for christ sake. if its ok for isreal to occupy this land then why wasn't it ok for germany to occupy the newly formed poland in 1939?
