i need a little research help - .

i'm having an argument with a dub and a couple of dub sympathizers, and the dub refuses to say that only jws will live through armageddon.

he keeps repeating "only god can read the ehart" as if it was the new dub mantra.. i only have the 1995 cd, and i would really , really like to be able to offer some quotes from more recent wts books and magaziines that state that only dubs will survive armageddon.. if i'm wrong and the message has changed, i'd like to know that too.. if the message has changed, why bother preaching?

My heart truly goes out to you. Realize that you do have friends here who want and need to hear your experiences because it helps others heal as much as you. I know and can feel your pain and anger directed at the WTBTS.

It is posts like these that make me sick to my stomach.

JW proclaim they are the most loving people on earth, yet in the very story you shared, the mother physically abused her daughter to the point of blackening and bruising her face.

Definitely something a God of Love would do now isn't it?

The WTBTS is a sick and perverted religion, and countless people have suffered by their hand.

I suppose Jehovah's Holy Spirit only appoints and selects caucasian males as worthy of representing his mouthpiece on earth.

They have the audacity to say that all men are united and equal, but the diversity of race is absent even in their highest level of authority.

It appears Jehovah God is not an equal opportunity employer.

This very same information was published in the Chicago Tribune a few weeks ago.

No one can deny the fact that those images DO resemble the horrific scenes we all saw on 9/11.

Alas, I chalk it up as a very strange coincidence, but like you I think someone has WAYYYYY too much time on their hands and was popping some serious hallucinogens.

"I can't find my car..."

one of my closest friends in all the world is someone i'll call m. m is in her mid-thirties and was raised a jw from infancy but is one no longer.

her parents are still very jw... her dad is a very high profile, respected elder in a large american city.

they are both cool people... i've sat and had long talks with both of them about subjects having nothing to do with 'the truth.

I admit Im a rather passionate person about subjects that are dear to me.

Religion is important to me whether I want it to be or not because of the profound effect this cult has had on my life.

Family is dear to me because of the way I was raised, and even moreso now because the JW-religion has caused me to lose all the family I ever had.

That said, oftentimes I get irritated with people who are JW's who post such ridiculous notions on this website and expose their own hypocrisy or deception. (i.e. YouKnow, TheMatrix and all his other personas, NYT, etc)

On the other side of the spectrum, it is not often I find something on this discussion board that makes me get a knot in my throat. Reading that post did.

Not counting the email from her being amazingly beautiful and poetic, the words you used to describe it in detail are what really did it for me. I was able to apply those words to myself, and then was when it touched me.

One of the things she (he) said was that neither parent said one word, not one syllable, about "coming back to Jehovah" or any of that bullshit. She (He) was just their daughter (SON)... they loved her (him) as much as ever... and she (he) was welcome to come home.

Oh what I would give for that. Brought tears to my eyes.

This website needs more posts like this, to stir positive emotions and make people think about what is really important in life.
