The world will end today.

well everybody, this is my goodbye letter.

today the world will end.. armageddon will sweep across the world.

i'm looking for a jw to save me.

Well, I am not from Australia but I have a few friends whom I chat with online that reside in Sydney and Melbourne respectively. I live in Chicago, and they are 16 hours ahead of my time zone. Considering the fact it is 12 noon on New Years Eve here... to anyone that can do logical math that makes it 4am January 1st, 2002 there.

Lets see:

- No 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
- No resounding voice from Heaven declaring time is up.
- No figurative bowls poured upon the Earth by the Angels guarding the 4 corners.
- No mass destruction of an incomprehensive scale.
- No blood flowing from the Great Winepress of His Anger to the waist of horses (as depicted so literally in the Revelation Climax Book, remind yourself this is a loving God)

So I think you need to reconsider your unsubstantiated claims about a timeframe for Armageddon. Apparently not this year.

unreasonable nit-picking by witnesses!

how many of you have had experiences where elders and others in the congregation presented and even pushed their own viewpoints on matters which should be left to each person's own conscience.. we are all aware of the frowns and negative opinions on the way we sometimes dressed; one elder commented on my tie as it was too bright - i once bought a pretty ornament which had a pyramid shape, afterwards a sister said that i should not have this in my house (she did not know precisely why...but sort of felt it was wrong!).

we got a few frowns when we had a wind chime, but at least there we did some research on and told the individual to mind his own business.. how many of you know the "demon inspired" proctor & gamble sign, which prompted many witnesses to abstain from purchasing any p & g products.

My personal experience was this. At the time I was reading at the Book Study and carrying the mics, I was taken to the back room and told that my sideburns were too long. Mind you, they came to the middle of my ear. I was told that it was too "fashionable" and "worldly-oriented" and if I did not trim them up I would be removed from priviledges. Laughably, at the same time other brothers in the same congregation of a different race has sideburns longer than mine, but it was regarded as acceptable.

I told the Elder where to stick it.

I am relatively new to the board, and a young MALE, but I unwaveringly agree with your stance which you supported with substantial evidence.

Critical-thinking, intelligent, confident women are all too often underappreciated. Seeing you take a stand and in turn demonstrate that many, many women are very capable.. makes me smile.

i'm not going to be able to mention everyone on this post, for many reasons, but i'd just like to mention a few folks who made my journey so much more comfortable.. thanks for all the many deep posts about the validity of the bible, the theory of evolution, scientific facts, etc.

Excellent point Ballistic, however you fail to realize that you are using medicinal fact and REASON. The WTS uses their uneducated threat tactics then has the nerve to call it a provision of love to convince the rank-and-file that in all cases the DF one is horribly doomed.
