Part of the reason I chose to leave outright without trying to reinstated first was that I wanted that cycle to end with me. I didn’t want my children to someday be influenced by family and pushed into that oppressive and abusive environment.

The "abused" becomes the "abuser"
by stuckinarut2 ina thought occurred to me about the perpetuation of jw abusive culture.. (i do not mean sexual abuse - i am referring to emotional, or behavioural abuses).
most jws are raised in the oppressive and abusive culture of jw life.
they have been raised with low self esteem.

Jehovah’s Witness dating rules
by Addison0998 ini’m sorry that i talk about dating a lot, i know it is probably very annoying, but you don’t have to read it.
but did anyone else have the most difficult time dating as a young jw?
me and my boyfriend have been dating for a year in half, we are in our early 20’s, and we are still not allowed to hold hands, cuddle or kiss.

I’d get out of your parents house as soon as I could. Make friends and start asking around to see if anyone is looking for a roommate. That’s how I found my current best friend (who is also my girlfriend). Dating as a nonJW is SO much better. Far fewer restrictions on what you can do with whom, the ability to actually get to know a person, not to mention a larger pool of people which drastically increases your odds of finding someone compatible:
Also, in my opinion, trying to live a lie is just not going to be worth all the trouble and frustration that comes with it. Far better to be honest with yourself and others and just let things work out how they do, that’s how you’ll find your true friends anyway, I sadly went 21 years of my life without a single one.

Who wrote the Bible?
by Ireneus inthe wordings suggest much of the bible is written by false friends of god.
to mention a few:.
1) god planted a special tree to pay the way for suffering and death into the lives of his children.. 2) god protected cain who murdered his innocent brother out of sheer jealousy.

If you’re interested in a plausible explanation that is based on some sort of actual evidence Wikipedia has an article on it that should at least give you some good books to check out on the subject.

Dec 2018 Watchtower Third Heaven & Paradise
by Listener ina qfr in the watchtower asks ".
n what sense was the apostle paul “caught away to the third heaven” and “into paradise”?—2 cor.
they've been flip flopping regarding this, stating that it is paul talking about himself to paul talking about the congregation and back again to paul talking about himself.it appears that three years ago david splane gave a talk during the convention explaining their latest ideas and it has taken all this time for it to get into print.

Do we also have first, second, and third earth?
Yeah, D.J. MacHale wrote about them in his brilliant YA book series about the inter-dimensional traveler Bobby Pendragon who has to save the universe from the malicious Saint Dane.

Why aren't the JDubs receiving more bad publicity concerning the abuse cover-ups?
by Sour Grapes ini know that the jdubs think that they are the center of the universe and in actuality, no one except ex-jdubs gives a rats ass about these religious crazies.
my question is i read that as a percentage of pedophiles per members, that the percentage is larger in the watchtower company than in the catholic church.
i would think that would catch someones attention in the media and make a good story.. what really pisses me off is the watchtower cult is gloating about all of the negative press the catholics are receiving concerning pedophiles not even knowing that the jdubs have thousands of sexual abuse cases that have been covered over.

JWs aren’t as high profile as the Catholic Church, most people don’t know much about them and don’t care what they do as long as they are left alone personally

JW’s do NOT shun... (apprently)
by pale.emperor inmy quora campaign of answering all jw related questions truthfully with evidence is going well.
however, one jw had the audacity to claim that "jws do not shun".
they seem to want to present a fake, squeeky clean image to non-members and seem to get angry when answering questions regarding shunning.. like this asshole, dennis cybulski.

Just come back to Jehovah’s loving organization and we will not treat you like sh-t and call you nasty names.
Well you’ve got to remember, they learned their manners from the guy who loves you so much he’ll kill you if you don’t love him back. Yes, it’s technically a “choice” but one that’s clearly designed to hurt you if you don’t do what they want.

Jehovah’s Witnesses Really Have No Power Over You Unless YOU Let It Happen!
by minimus inshould i go to a judicial committee and perhaps get disfellowshipped?
should i talk to the elders just because they say they want to talk to me?
should i simply disassociate myself and have nothing to do with the organization?.

No matter whether you DA, DF, or fade, the organization still holds your family and friends hostage against you inside it (at least if you’re a born-in like me). My personal choice was to leave with as little dishonesty or beating around the bush as possible, and I was already disfellowshipped before the thought of leaving ever crossed my mind so that meant no trying to get reinstated just to live a lie for awhile. -

KH Hall doors to remain locked during meetings?
by StarTrekAngel inmy mother in law told us this morning that they read a letter in her cong last night.
from now on kh doors will be locked after 15 min of meeting start.
only the fire exit (one way door) will remain unlocked.

If they want to lock the doors of KH during meetings for security reasons, then what the heck are those legions of angels doing ?
They are probably busy taking cold showers to deal with their centuries of pent up sexual frustration.

The people who decided the Scriptures
by Doug Mason inmany people over many centuries have been involved in deciding which documents were scripture.
there has never been unanimous agreement, including today.
only the church of rome took a vote on the canon.

I realized this when I was about 20, after I researched it and discovered that we really just used one of the many accepted canons (JWs actually use the Protestant list of cannon, not the Catholic list) and brought it up to my parents it didn’t seem to bother them nearly as much as it did me. Looking at all the “apocryphal” writings really went a long way towards helping me question the book as a whole. In fact, just last night I was looking into the origins of the Torah, (Hebrew Scriptures) most scholar’s believe that those writings weren’t really put together until after the Jews returned from Babylon and that many of the books were slowly added to by many writers over a period of time instead of each book being written in whole by a single author as many JWs believe. Worship of the deity Yahweh wasn’t even very widespread in Israel before that and evidence suggests they actually worshipped the head of the Canaanite pantheon, a god known as El, whose name can even be seen in the name of IsraEl. There is even a version of Deuteronomy that says Yahweh is on of the children of El and was granted Israel as his own nation, it took centuries of Yahweh absorbing the traits of other deities like El and Baal before the Israelites denied the existence of any other gods. (Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent there)

Congratulations! It's always good when someone is given the ability to follow their passion without being restricted from it by blind religious dogma. I'm happy for you and your granddaughter.
