Thank you for posting this cross-reference to JWZone. While I'm not surprised by their comments there, I do find it amusing to read about their "vengeance" fantasies.
Several of them are postulating about the glory there will be to Jehovah when the police drag Bill and his "followers" away from 25 Columbia Heights. It will be interesting to gauge their reactions when they finally realize that all permits have been obtained and the police will do nothing. I wonder if the "Bethel Boys" will try to strongarm anyone.
I also found it fascinating that they also feel that Jehovah will use this demonstration to cause people to investigate the facts so that they will then become JWs. So far, my experience has been that anyone to whom I have described this issue HAS investigated the facts and come away totally disgusted by the Watchtower policies.
It's sad, really, that people who are, for the most part, trying to accomplish what they feel is a "good" thing can be so totally blinded to reality. Seven006, your comments on the parent/child dependency syndrome were quite interesting...and I think right on the mark. Coinciding with this is the fact that JWs call the Society, "Mother". Personally, I think it sounds a little freaky, but it certainly fits with the dependency issue.

Self-Healing, Homeopathy, Herbalist
by YoursChelbie ini remember while being a dub, there were many people in the kh i attended that seldom went to a traditional family doctor for common ailments.
they were always praising their alternative methods of non-conventional medicine.
even after they explained in principle how these methods work, i still had difficulty accepting them as safe alternatives.

I tend to be one of those people who is really sensitive to allopathic medications. If someone is going to have a bad reaction to a medication, it will be me.
Therefore, I have come to depend on alternative remedies for most everything. I DO see a medical doctor, but I try to reserve allopathic treatment as a last resort. I've had several experiences where I had to be rushed to the emergency room because of problems with medication.

JW firefighter killed
by Grunt inin central florida,(orlando area) two firefighters died in a training exercise a couple of days ago.
it was a terrible way to die and a tragic loss.
i was surprised to hear today that one is a witness and that his funeral is being held at a convention center (tupperware?

Ah yes, the one-size-fits-all funeral talk. When my mother died, I had really hoped for something different. The elder I asked to give the talk had presumably been quite close to Mom before her death, and I thought that he would include some personal things about her. I even discussed this with him prior to the memorial service and told him some of the things I wanted included in the talk to personalize it.
He included NOTHING of a personal nature....not even the things I had specifically requested. It was the typical insert-the-deceased's-name outline talk, totally devoid of anything about the person. I was, to say the least, disgusted.

I don't think I could live without my animals, and I have a couple hanging around. At last count there were:
Three horses--Hablador, my Peruvian Paso; Rufous, the Thoroughbred who was on his way to the slaughterhouse; and Bingo, our buckskin grade horse.
Two dogs--Rocky, my 20 pound Pomeranian (Pomasaurus); and Webster, my Welsh Corgi.
Two chinchillas--George and Oliver.
Four finches, two goldfish, and a humongous Pink Kisser (the last of my husband's tropical fish foray).
Eight cats--Raphael, Bella, Rynn, Anastashia, Bumper, Muggsy, and George and Toby, my Maine Coons.

DO YOU STILL LOVE JEHOVAH?
by minimus inlately, i notice quite a few comments of disillusionment.
some say they are no longer religious.
others say they are not sure if god really exists.others are trying to come to terms with life outside of the watchtower.

I believe in something divine. I am no longer sure if it/he/she is a single entity or a universal creative force that exists, however.

WT Speaks Out On Apostasy
by stevieb1 inthe following quote is taken from the september 15, 2002 edition of the watchtower, p.16-18:.
"in the first century, such individuals as hymanaeus, alexander, and philetus, were advocating ideas that did not fit "the pattern of healthful words.
" (1 timothy 1:18-20; 2 timothy 2:16,17) how could the early christians avoid being led astray by apostates?

When I was in the Borg...widows over 65 could apply for monitary support from the congregation...I don't know much about it, as I'm in my twenties, but that's what I was told...but I don't know if that was a new thing or only down in the USA or what.
Well, this is certainly another load of bullpucky. My mother was a widow in her 70s and she got NO help from the congregation. In fact, when she had the serious stroke that eventually killed her, none of her "brothers" and "sisters" could even take the time to visit her....much less help her monetarily.

WT literature in the trash can
by Nordic ini am born in the truth.now i am 40 years old and have thrown all my wt literature in the trash can.i am ashamed that i have been in the watchtower orginazation and in my prayer to jehovah i have said that i only belong to him.

Welcome, Nordic. I kept a lot of WT literature stashed in a closet for years. Somehow, I couldn't bring myself to throw it out. I finally did....then I got on the Internet and realized that a lot of people would buy the older literature to use for research. There are some pretty embarrassing things in those old publications that the WTS would just as soon disappeared. LOL
