waiting....let the men diddle around with property rights and WTBTS business. That gives us women more time to prepare to reclaim our places in a strictly matriarchal society....which is exactly as it should be.

Wierd KH property arrangement
by Simon inmy wife's congregation recently bought some land to build a new kh on it but then signed over the ownership to an offshore company controlled by the wtb&ts.
they were told that it would make it harder to 'grab' when 'the persecution begins'.. has anyone else heard anything like this?.
it sounds like a way of getting real-estate to me and from what i've heard, sounds a bit dodgy.

idaho that the bible is the source of our moral law.

Frenchy, I don't remember your exact words on the other post, but I do think that you have surpassed yourself with this one.
In addition to the hogshead stew and chitlins, I'll throw in a hefty side of Rocky Mountain Oysters....and a quahog.

kinda like hiding out from the group....... be aware, as i learned, that if we speak here, anybody on the web can read what we say.. i did not suspect it was an orgy until three days later.

Only three or four names? My daughter must have at least 15. This makes it rather hard for me to contact her with IM....I never know what persona has logged in that night.
Have you ever noticed that you can spot, most of the time by their wording or phrases, a long time JW, short time JW, elder, etc? May take a while, but the attitude and wording comes through.
I have definitely noticed this. Although some JW's would say that this sameness denotes unity (and I used to think this myself), I now feel that it reflects the cultlike nature of the religion.
I have noticed it in myself, also. There are certain catch phrases and words that are instantly identifiable. It's actually kind of creepy.

waiting, I'm glad you're getting benefit by posting. I know that it helps me, also. It's kind of similar to when I went to therapy, feeling that I must be totally insane. Just hearing that others felt as I did helped a lot.
Sharing experiences is definitely a way to heal. This is one reason why I could never understand shunning. JW's are cut off from society as it is. If someone has a problem, they are then cut off from the only association they have been taught is acceptable.
It's difficult to get out of that kind of trap. Boards such as this can do much to help people realize that they are not so different from everyone else.

JW prophets or not!!
by Zep inwell they use to claim they were...of course now they dont, at least not in so many words.their very name itself however, implies that they speak for jehovah.but if its the case as they claim, that they are not his prophets & do not neccessarily speak for him then they have no right to the name "jehovah witnesses"....furthermore, if they are not prophets then how can they claim that rev11:3-4 is referring to them....pg164 of revelation..grand climax book.here it says that "my 2 witnesses shall prophesy".....but since they are not prophets then how can they prophesy....how can god cause them to prophesy?.
its all games obviously...an attempt to avoid the label "false prophet" but in the process of doing so they just end up looking even more stupid!....

Friend, yes there are those who are genuinely happy, and for these being a JW is a blessing.
However, to state as the Society does many times that the JW's are "the happiest people on earth" is more of an advertising ploy than a fact and is in no way beneficial.
I have seen brothers and sisters who were striving with all their might to do the best they could be struck down emotionally by elders who felt it was their duty to chastise these ones in order to improve their performance...whether it be meeting attendance or service.
I have seen the joy turn to anguish as these brothers berated themselves for being inadequate.
Having a relationship with God SHOULD bring much joy. However, the regulations governing every aspect of worship....from counting time, to proper manner of praying, to appropriate dress length, to leisure activities....simply weigh down the spirit.
In far too many cases, being one of the "happiest people on earth" is an elusive goal, which causes much heartache to those that blame themselves for not feeling such joy.
I wish there were a way to communicate this to those who could make a difference so that they would listen. I've tried in the past, but to no avail.

I don’t know about JWs being the happiest people alive, but I can tell you that mainstream JWs do very much enjoy their community and the association that it brings. They also enjoy having a pretty clear hope for the future other than eventual and eternal nonexistence. I guess those two things combined would tend to allow for a good measure of joy in living.
From my experience, Friend, this statement is not particularly accurate. I have seen many, many JW's who aspire to that joy (and feel that they SHOULD be joyful), but who are constantly being made to feel inadequate.
They are constantly striving to accomplish everything they "should" do. Most take no time to enjoy their relationship with God, but rather berate themselves for not having done enough. And, in turn, they are constantly being admonished from the platform to do more.
The association could be very upbuilding; however, in most of the congregations I was familiar with, the only ones who enjoyed association were the ones in the cliques....which were generally made up of those with money or power.
I have been personally acquainted with many "happy" JW's living quiet lives of desperation, hoping that somehow they will be judged as being adequate to have a hope for the future.
