Now? Do we get the offer of the "report" now? Oh, when? When? When? When? Now....is it now? Are we there yet?

God's People
by Frenchy ingods people.
this is in response to a question asked by martini on the thread reflections, page 4. for those who have not read it, the question is: is it true that the israelites were historically jehovah's chosen people...the israelites make the wts with all it's "warts" look like saints... or are we to deduce from this that jehovah is the kind of god that could accept and work with such wayward people today as he did in the past?
my response was, in a nutshell: yes, the israelites were gods chosen people.

I'm curious, MDS, is this the point where you offer to sell us the "report", or do we have to wait awhile yet?

MDS, forgive me for having an opinion, but when I read your venomous, self-righteous posts, I merely come to the conclusion that you need some stronger medication....really.

Puppylove, you are probably right. Whatever she said after the "MY LORD" was most likely unprintable. LOL

Reflections
by Frenchy inim starting a new thread because its time i left the bergman discussion.
i would like to address some comments made by ahhah, however, comments which have given me reason to look deep into myself.. even then, i wonder how objective a person could ever be after having had part of their life taken from them by a cult association.
on the other hand, who else (other than an ex-jw) would ever care enough to work as tirelessly as he seems to have in attempting to document the potential harm of this religion (biased as it may be).

Martini, when I see evidence of a burning bush on the roof of the Bethel headquarters, or view one of the members of the GB walking across Narragansett Bay without sinking, I will definitely become active again.
Actually, if they could just show show evidence of the Christian ideals they purport to uphold, I might be a little more convinced.

"Lord in her heart"? How about "Foot up your backside"?

The post-it note is a good idea (for covering both items..hehe), but I find that the pagan vibes just keep reaching out for me. You KNOW how Satan works. Simply having it on the page.....it's like a cyber-windchime....it calls to you with its seductive pagan exuberance....it draws you in....it corrupts your mind.....ohmigawd, ohmigawd.....ARGGGGGHHHHHHHH

Well, since you bring it up..... I have been trying very hard to post on this board with my eyes closed so that I would not have to gaze upon the gaudy icon of idolatrous, pagan merrymaking. My finely tuned Christian sensibilities have been pounded to a pulp by this heinous holiday sprite. And it flashes, too!! Oh, my eyes, my eyes.....

"Dates on the beach"? AhHah, you are a DOM. LOL
Sandgroper, from my own experiences and the experiences of others I have known as JW's, I have to disagree that there is not an excess of mental illness amongst JW's.
Go to any JW board and read the posts from those who are suffering with depression and anxiety. The constant demands to do "more" and the constant feeling that you're never quite "good enough" definitely help to foster feelings of depression. The guilt that comes from being afraid that every little thing you do might be construed as a "sin" doesn't help either. Then there's the fear that you'll "fall short of the prize". None of this results in a healthy mental outlook.
