I didn't leave because of this issue, no. But I have to say that this issue is what caused my daughters to realize the society Is bigoted and that they never want to go back. They both have boyfriends, but my daughter was president of the gay awareness club in high school. My second daughter, who was mentally loyal to the org, said 'well they're stupid then' when I told her witnesses disfellowship gay people and that issue alone made her finally decide to move on.

hatred of homosexuality is the new racism. Witnesses better chage their doctrine before they are looked upon like the KKK by the general populace.

Never a JW, I wish that were true. I said 5 1/2 because i really do feel more imperfect than most and was being honest. Many people in my life call me an 'angel' and I can't deal with that because it's so inaccurate...they just don't know the other side.

i recently read a quote of lemony snicket: (paraphrased) .....people are like Cobb salads. A chopped up mix of good and bad stuff just trying to sort through their own mess and confusion.

i don't know if anybody has seen this (or if anybody cares).

but it seems that some of the "new" new songs have been leaked by somebody at bethel.. just a bit of a warning, do not click on that vocal rendition of song 142... it is awful.

They spend so much effort trying to make you feel CONSTANTLY guilty in the first place, for never doing quite enough to merit your salvation....then when you finally have had enough, they try to use guilt to get you back in...no doubt saying ' you will be forgiven!!' Um, maybe for two minutes, till the cycle starts again.

Wife fully awake.

i learned this past week that my wife is now awake.

i just shared the pbs newshour segment with her with no comment other than something along the lines of, "jw story on pbs.".

she is furious at the arrogance of these men.. thats what happens when you get a momma angry!.

yes, today is the forum's 15th birthday!.

i never thought for one moment that it would survive this long or have so many people post so many great subjects over the years.. it is still humbling when i get pm's or emails from people expressing how the site has helped them and of course thanks goes to all the posters who have shared their experiences and make helpful and supportive comments to others who are in the sometimes difficult process of learning the real truth about 'the truth'.. the site has gone through several different incarnations over the last 15 years running on different platforms, different databases and different hosts but we've been able to keep all the old topics.

the current site is still being developed and i'm hoping to push another major upgrade soon.. i also may have some other news to share soon about the future of the site so stay posted.. until then, here's the the next 15 years!

Thank you Simon for starting such a loving community forum for people who need help. Those who are caught in a trap either still physically or within their own minds...you help loosen those bonds so they can be free, and you help friends or family stay sane and cope when their loved ones aren't ready to loosen the bonds. why report more partakers?

of all the threads here about the number of partakers increasing, i don't recall theories as to why they report this.

they could stop reporting numbers altogether or lie.

instead they say, in essence, "our teachings about end times and heavenly hope are still wrong"..
