Hypocritically, there are many scriptures the witnesses think are odd and ignore, which don't agree with their doctrine. But they agree with Christendom. You need to step out of the religion and look at them again before they make sense.

its a rainy day and have been reading posts.. i would like to respond to the comments of those still in, post to those who have decided to leave.. what ever you have been told or may think about what will happen without "the truth" , is not true.
my life without the wbts is fantastic.

i'm going to be honest and from the heart when i say that for 40 years in the jw religion i was very happy in my ignorance!
man, what a trip it was.
i loved every minute of it but then i was absent the bad in my religion.

Well, I made some arguments and encouragements for research on the trinity above. Not so eloquent but I hope you do look into it some more.
From what I've seen, witnesses are the only religion that never frankly apologizes for its mistakes. I read a lot about religion, and they all apologize. Even the Catholic Church apologizes. For JW's to call Christendom pompous really takes the cake.
No, none of them are perfect, but most are less flawed than the witnesses, seriously, and a lot less self aggrandizing. You're going to do what you want to do. It would be good tho to keep an open mind on this as you go through the next few years. Keep your eyes open. Talk to people in other churches.

i was a convert.
i won't go into the whole history ( perhaps another day) - my story could easily be recognised in the small town where i live, with my husband.. so, we stopped going to the meetings around a period of time when we were going through severe emotional difficulties - at that point, we needed unconditional family love - the hectic, forced jw dinner parties and social occasions gave no real comfort.
I've been there too with the false friends. They disappear lightning quick.

Thank you for your comments! You are an interesting newcomer, because you say you are still a believer. In the jw org or God? I'm a believer too, just not in the GB or many of their tenets anymore. If you want to move on with your life, I would suggest researching doctrine from other viewpoints. This brought me to a place of contentment. If you are happy being a JW for now, stay. Try to spread some good by being kind to those who are suffering from the judgmentalism and pressure.
