I was thinking about this a couple days ago. Siblings grow up together, see eachother every single day, are in each others space. But so often they end up living in very different places, seeing eachother once a decade. It's a fact of life, but it's a sad thing. i have lots of kids and the thought they they will live far apart from eachother some day makes me so melancholy.
I am really sorry for your loss. It must feel so strange. Sort of like a part of you is gone.
I just saw Inside/Out and cried 4 times. A kids movie is not supposed to be that sad!! And now you've got me crying again.

My wife , Son and DIL living with us ,have still not acknowledged my birthday today @ 5:15 pm , I might have to drop them a subtle hint.
by smiddy ini know being a witness for 33 years and not celebrating b/days you do lose the habit , but i thought one of them would have remembered ?
oh well .. maybe i will just rub it in with them tomorrow .make them feel guilty , eh ?.
then again i might just start singing "76 trombones" at the dinner table tonight .

Birthdays are a big deal in our family now, making up for lost time.
smiddy happy birthday, and tell us if you finally dropped the hint. I hope so, and I hope they make it up to you!!

Try Other Religions
by Sofia Lose insometimes i get a strong curiosity to start dabbling into other religions, other faiths, you know?
really different ones such as islam, judaism, hinduism, etc.. has anyone here looked into something else?
has your spirituality been satisfied by any other than christianity?.

According to William Malenfant the serpent in the garden was a "she".
by Hold Me-Thrill Me inon jw broadcasting malenfant's latest video, "do not be misled by the wicked" states (@ 4:30) "did it (the serpent) take a bite of the forbidden fruit and because of that was she allowed to gain this ability to speak?".
where does malenfant get the idea that the serpent in the garden was female?.
interesting, because malenfant, like the governing body, adds to scripture what is not there.

Oh wow. Women in he Bible are so ignored by witnesses. Even Mary barely mentioned lest they start sounding like Catholics. (There CAN be a balance, WT!)
so now finally we get a spot...but oops, it's Satan who is the woman. Yay us!!!

What Road Would You Choose---IF?

That's true blondie. I WISH I didn't want to wish away certain parts of the past, but there are a few mistakes I really wish I could undo.
But all we can really do is try to be the best person we can be right now.
I'm so sorry your parents were like that.

Drama at the RC
by leaving_quietly ini sat through part 1 of the drama yesterday.
i thought they did a fairly decent job with it, except for the weird questions asked up front by an ancient guy asking "how do you know jehovah's witnesses have the truth?
" that has absolutely nothing to do with how he was convinced jesus was the messiah.

Who ever knew witnesses to be accurate? they talk about being accurate but they don't actually do it. Especially not lately, when they gloss over facts, to make themselves appear more reasonable than they are. It's like Fox News saying constantly that they are the only fair news source. Watch it often enough without watching other news and people start believing it. Accuracy not so important. Dramatic effect.

Life is funny.
i don't want to give away too much, but i would have liked to be an actress (very cliche' of course) not famous or anything, but it would have been great to get an earlier start, I know I could have played roles in local productions. I was just in a small role recently. I was good.
But honestly, what would have happened if I wasn't a witness, is the worldly boy I fell in love with in senior year of high school...we would have gotten married. The only reason we didn't is because he wasn't a witness and I couldn't hurt my parents. We found eachother much later on FB. He, strangely, had gotten into another cult, (weirder than jw's) and escaped from it. He got married and had the same number of children as I have. We limited our talking to eachother. We are both happily married. Now, 5 years later, he is slowly dying of a terrible neck cancer that took his voice, tongue and ability to eat by his mouth.
Realistically, if I hadn't been a witness, I would have been his wife. Watching him suffer every day. He is very spiritual and sees beauty in the process of himself dying.
it gives me really mixed feelings. Selfishly glad it's not me that has to raise the kids alone. but being so far away...feeling really helpless.
Im not grateful I was a witness. I'm grateful for my husband who followed me out. And he's healthy.
