and meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends.

I usually avoid Viviane's posts as well. I used to get hot and bothered but ignoring them keeps the negativity out of my day. If I see her picture more than once in a post I avoid the thread because I know what it's going to be like. On the other hand, sometimes I've 'liked' her posts, she's quite fun when she's not being petty or mean. But because I avoid the argumentative posts, I have no idea which thread you are talking about, Eden. I'm really sorry you were that badly hurt and that you felt enough people didn't care.

I would reconsider if I were you, though. We need to support eachother. We've been stifled our whole lives, not being able to speak our minds freely. Don't let bullies do you in now. Also, I don't think you gave Simon enough time to respond to your request. Sleep on it.

as most of you know i have been shunned by my family for 2 years because of a photo posted on facebook of me kissing another girl at a party.

the matter was not dealt with fairly but it is over now and i am 100% certain that jdub org is a cult.

but i miss my family so much.

Once you have kids your parents might want to know them anyway. And as a Df'd person, you will have the authority to tell them you do not want them indoctrinated in the cult. If you are reinstated you have to pretend that it's ok, and that would be damaging to them.

in any case, I've lost my family for the most part too, and I feel your pain :/.

i was sitting at the recent circuit assembly that i attended, (the things i do for sis blues) and the baptism talk was under way .

i admit that my mind was more on my imminent packed lunch and flask of coffee but i distinctly heard the speaker make the statement that heads this thread and cite a wt reference.. you what !

i was shocked....... how can they possibly make such an arrogant statement ?

REVOLTING!! And inaccurate and haughty and disgusting. I must have been sitting in a Kingdom Hall in 1990 and did that watchtower and didn't even notice. Ugh!

Is my friend on the way out of the organisation?

when i left the watchtower i realised it was best to put friendships on hold.

however i mentioned to my best friend that i didn't agree with how they handled child abuse issues and that was one of the reasons i left.. anyway as i am fortunate and own two rental apartments and he is a plumber so we have kept in contact, in that i email him when i require his services and he sends me the invoice.

anyway i am now dissociated, but yesterday i emailed him about a pluming problem, and he replied.. " sorry we missed going to the indian ( this was a comment made about us having a meal together about 9 months ago, which i backed out of because i felt he was too indoctrinated and i had not disassociated myself) anyway his email continued:-.

I would definitely recommend the dinner together, and casually broach the subject with 'you DO know I'm disassociated, right?' And see how he responds. Leave it up to him. In any case don't go into a ttatt tirade. Proceed with caution, and emphasize how hard it is when one mate is a mentally in witness and the other 'knows things' and how you wouldn't wish that on him.

It must be such a shock to go from being practically worshipped everywhere you go, agreed with about everything--you are always right, given money and gifts and free livelihoods...and to suddenly be kicked to the curb and your word means nothing and good luck supporting yourself and starting over at your age, and hopefully you have family to turn to and parasite off of. The message is clear: Give your life to the org! And when we're done with you we don't care what happens to you, see ya!

okay, i need to vent.

as a newly awoken individual, i have yet to "come out" to my hard core jdub parents.

my plan was to lay low and use my unbelieving husband and baby as an excuse for my "inactivity", it has worked for the last few months.

Well he's four months not four years. But still! I agree with everyone above, nip it in the bud. I think it may be time to come out to your mom that you don't plan to stay in the religion. You want the absolute best for your son and the negativity of that religion is a bad influence for children. She's going to have to deal with it sooner or later. Do it while your son is too young to know what's going on. I know it will be painful. :/ But you have your family to protect, and so far they are all on your side. Don't let your mom divide your family.

Cooperate Members of the Watchtower Society

a older sister in miami florida has told me that the special pioneer couple who got their walking papers last week said they are also voting members of the watchtower society.

also his stock share is valued at $800,000!.

i did some research and spoke to some longtime witnesses and found out that there are 500 voting members of the society and they are also called shareholders.. has anyone ever of someone selling his share?.

Done4good, I agree. When I was a witness I probably would have answered 'no' to the literal question, and my reason would have been, because JW's believe the creative day was not a literal 24 hour period.

Another thing I learned from this study: don't move to Wyoming! What the heck, 3% of people there are witnesses?? That's like, a guarantee that every class you are in in high school has a witness in it. One in 33 people?? I remember there were some small island nations with that kind of percentage. At least in Wyoming the people are few and far between...
