Dating a Religious Person - Thoughts?
by Garrett inhello my dear friends :).
i am here once again because you guys are pretty much the most awesome peeps ever.. i have a new dilemma that i'd like your opinions on.
as most of you know, i'm an agnostic.

You simply need to talk about this with her to find out if she's cool with it. Also, if your relationship progressed, would you be cool with your kids going to church? Keep in mind that Catholicism, especially these days, isn't like being a witness. It's a lot easier for religiously divided families if the religion isn't a cult like the one you have known. Also, you're agnostic, not atheist, which makes the religious divide a little narrower. Would you go to church with her and support her? You wouldn't have to do the faking thing, you could just explain you're an agnostic to people and they would be ok with that. A lot of it is your attitude. If you can respect her beliefs and not belittle them, and if she respects that you don't think her religion has all the answers, this could work. -

I don't think Trump is disingenuous...I think he's authentically and profoundly immature and he's very open about how he feels about things...perhaps he has never had to grow up. I don't agree with him most of the time, but I kind of like the guy on a certain level. However he would be a terrible president and get the U.S. into all kinds of precarious situations. He's a hotheaded, overly proud bigot who has racist sexist and classist issues. I kind of enjoy his immaturity because it makes me feel better about myself, frankly. I dont respect him and I won't vote for him. -

Recent announcement on literature placements
by dbq407 ini find it interesting that the other night they announced that literature is not to be left indiscriminately.
they said to only leave literature if the householder engages you in conversation.
it used to be that they would try to get any literature into every hand of every person.

Wait, there aren't going to be any more laundromat placements? What are the washing machines going to do without their spiritual food?? ;) -

James mixon!! Are you thinking of communism, maybe? We aren't talking former Russia.
Socialism (Denmark, Sweden etc) is actually a pretty successful form of government. International surveys report that the happiest healthiest people are living in socialist countries.

JW message becoming more and more relevant
by lsw1961 inmans requirements are limited which can be satisfied with a little and tension-free endeavor..
however man attempts not only to collect but also to grab and amass everything to the excess.
somehow he feels that he can be happy only when he has in abundance whereas others have nothingwhich seems to be the thread that runs throughout the history.

John there is so much evidence of the species crossed out in your illustration. Almost all of us carry Neanderthal DNA. -

My first post
by thewalker inhi, i just joined the board and wanted to present myself.. i'm active, in fact very active in congregation activities serving "where the need is great" in a foreign language congregation somewhere in western europe.
as a young brother, i'm seen as an example as i'm doing all a good witness should do.. i had doubts years ago but i decided just to ignore them and move to another congregation to preach more.
that worked for some years but i'm now at the exact same point.

Wasanelder...I like your cancerous growth analogy, as opposed to cutting off a limb.
Also it's sort of like cutting off a large parasite that sucks you dry of life. You cut it off and it hurts, there's an open wound...but eventually you will heal and find more strength and energy than you thought you had!!

Sanders for me too. Tho I've been impressed with Hillary at the debates. But any ideas that she would make politics less polarized is a pipe dream. It sort of started with her and Newt Gingrich.
Trump is a freaking clown. Fun to watch but you do NOT want that guys finger on the red button.
