Calling all lovers of Jehovahs and His Christ
by vinman ini must say that i have always loved jehovah and his son jesus christ.
i have a 12 inch diameter telescope.
i would go outside and listen to the psalms that praised to my god.

He asked the question of 'those who felt like him'! You all were much gentler than often, but still, why chime in in this case? Wouldnt it be the same if someone came in with Christian comments when someone asked to hear atheist views? It'd be annoying as heck, right? -

to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH
by oompa inand i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.
but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .
how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

Shoot, wish I could go back in time and be his 'winggal'. It was one of the last things he said.
I'm so sorry, oompa. I hope you found some peace. <3

Has This Site Ever Hurt You In Your Journey Out Of The JW Religion?
by minimus inthis site has gone through many metamorphosis over the years.
i believe it is a kinder, less edgy place tan it was a few years ago.
i wonder how many people were helped versus turned off by this place.

Wow. Maybe Trevor has moved to Nigeria and found a new living. :)
thats awful tho, that someone would take advantage of other people like that. He probably was in desperate need of attention....and then when he was exposed, slammed everyone for being gullible, to inflate his own ego.
Thanks for filling us newbies in.

Ok, searching a bit for this guy named Trevor and 'trevorgate' and what happened...doesn't make that much sense tho. Will one of you long timers sum it up for me?? -

I think I came across this site some years ago and was turned off...I think by outlaw's abrasive humor. No offense outlaw, I just wasn't ready for it yet! You are the one person I remember from back then. So either now I'm used to it/feel the same way, or you have become more lighthearted with your posts/pictures, and they are more humorous than offensive. Possibly a combination of all those factors, but probably mostly the change is in me. I think back then freeminds was easier for me to swallow. But in recent history I hadn't looked at anything apostate for a few years. Now I'm pretty much addicted to this site...found it a couple months ago again, wanting to research some possible changes in JW theology. It's fun :). -

How do you feel about religion as a whole?
by FatherFirst init just seems to me religion in general primarily makes truly bad people worse, not genuinly good people better; and in many cases has even made good people do bad things in the name of their religion.
just curious, a personal poll if you will.
what are you guys' current views on religion as a whole?

I have found a great religious community, a liberal Protestant, educated, free minded, open dialogued, various opinioned church. Most of us believe in evolution and gay rights. Some in my church teach at a local Ivy League school.
I enjoy worshipping in a group. We do many many community projects together. Yes, some extreme religions are detrimental to the progression of society, but don't disregard those churches that are helping society and not hindering progress.

What does EVERYONE do these days. Who needs to find something/research something? Go to the web! I needed to find info for a talk once, had no source material (they might want to fix that if they haven't already), searched online for info about the scripture provided. Found a Christian dissertation on the scripture, was deeply affected. Gave the best talk ever! It was one of the things that helped me become christian.
When I was going through an issue with the witnesses, I researched online to find out if anyone else had gone through the same issue. A bunch of apostate sites came up. I really tried to be good and only let my eyes go to the subjects directly related to the issue...I failed miserably. :) but what I'm saying is, the internet is a natural turning place these days for anyone looking for info on anything! This will inevitably lead many many witnesses to places like this and their eyes will be opened.
