She asked specifically for scriptures in her letter. It's all she wanted. They offered none.

this morning, i was working at a home where the tv had been left on.
i listened in but didn't watch, for the most part.
ms. davis was flanked by her lawyer and another gentleman.
I have said and felt the same thing as ms. Davis, and a personal transformation. However it's unfortunate her Christianity had taken on such a fundamentalist stance and intolerance. I suspect it is influenced by her choice of church and what is believed to be 'right' in her community. She has the wrong job if she can't do it according to the law and her conscience.
I do not believe same sex marriage is wrong. Anyone who wants to get married should be able to, and I would certainly have issued that license.
i think witnesses never use that lingo, because they aren't really Christian. They are a cult of Jehovah and 'his organization.'
this may seem simple to all you young folks(under 50) out there, but this old fart is just wondering, how much can people see on facebook in the way of comments, if you have privacy up and running so that, i thought, only those you have friended can see what you comment ?.
i am not overly bothered, but it occurs to me that since in recent times i have been more active on fb, my outspoken comments against the jw scam may be visible to those who are not actually "friends" ???.
i am just wondering if i should expect (as in monty python) the spanish inquisition ?.
Facebook is an exJW minefield.
Things can get through to people you don't want them to get through to. However, make sure you go to your privacy settings and choose who can see what. There are things you can do to TRY to keep things from getting seen by the wrong people. But if you are on facebook and living a normal life, that picture of you at someone's birthday party may be seen by some witness somewhere. It's a small world. The 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon and all that. After a few incriminating instances and lots of people unfriending me, I decided to not freak out (tho I'm still cautious.) Like the old adage, the people who matter accept you the way you are. The people who don't dont matter. But as an ex witness it's not always as simple as that. Be careful on FB.
guess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.
hello friends.
my fleshy sister is seriously getting to my nerves.
she's my only (and younger) sister, and as you know, is married to an uber-circuit overseer.
first of all; i must admit that i'm not a huge fan of putting people in boxes like this, it is not an exact science.
but i still think the data can be quite interesting and i intend to collect it and share it in a structured way with you guys.
so without future ado here are the details.. link to test: .
since many things have changed, new religions, and religions changing doctrine, etc, for everytime a jw says nobody except jws, 1. refuse to go to war.
2. refuse to be in politics 3. preach about god's kingdom.
4. don't allow sin (dfing for fornication, etc).
1. There have been many many religious conscientious objectors over the course of history. I believe the Quakers are the strongest anti military religion, but even there, if someone chose to go to war im sure they don't disfellowship. In my current church, there are people who have been in the military and people whose sons are in the military, and there are also many people who would NEVER support war and definitely not fight in one. The thing is, most churches allow a persons conscience to make this decision, but do not punish people for going with their own conscience. The same goes for number 4., generally, actually as well. The church is there to guide people, not condemn. Their sin is between them and God,for the most part.
2. Refuse to get involved with politics....personally I think this is stupid. I think it's good for the church as a whole not to get involved with politics, but for individual members, I believe politics is very important. For any church to ban its members from being political is taking away a huge freedom that should be a human right. I wonder if witnesses voted in Germany in the 30's, would Hitler have ever won that election? 3. Churches talk about the kingdom all the time, but usually its with the application 'let your will take place'... We know gods will is that we take care of the weak and poor. Most churches try to help spread Gods kingdom now, by helping make the world a better place.

Oubliette, they should have copied your graph more precisely, it's a lot better!!! Theirs is a mess TRYING to be yours.
They can't face this simple truth: Their religion is based on false prophecy. They're jumping through hoops trying to still make it work, but it's quite pathetic. That it WORKS on many of their members highlights their much better skill: brainwashing and manipulation. But they can't brag about those skills, can they?
