  I'm a coward.

  since the move, it has been so enjoyable to not have jw's breathing down our necks asking why we didn't make the meeting, or having to pretend to be "spiritual" in front of family all the time.. 90% of my week is virtually stress free.

  then, my mom calls or texts wanting to talk to her grandkids.

  every dang call, she asks about the new congregation, if we went to the meeting, etc.. why can't i tell her to fk off?

  Cappy please don't feel down on yourself. She's your mom. It's not easy or even natural to 'sever relationships' with her. She sounds awful. Take it one day at a time. Enjoy that 90% and answer the phone less often.

  my mom especially had some go-to phrases that to this day echo in my head and piss me off.

  things like, .

  "don't get mad at me for enforcing the rules, because jehovah made them, so if you don't like it, you're disrespecting him.

  yesterday i was with a group of brothers that wanted my advice on re-roofing a home.

  three of them were ministerial servants.

  all of them are from the spanish congregation.

  many people think that wt is a publishing company and at one time that was true.

  however, they are slowly fading that out into more digital publications.

  we all have come to the conclusion that printed material from the wt is going way of the dinosaur.

  They should totally move their headquarters to Hollywood. That's where all the resources are! There could be a whole bevy of JW movie stars. Sort of like Bollywood stars, in a genre all their own..... Bethellywood!

  i've been thinking, "what if it does fail and there is a mass exodus?".

  i have been wronged and damaged greatly by these ones.

  every one needs to handle this situation in his or her own way, but as for me if it does happen, i will meet them with open arms.

  Shoot, yes. Open arms. These people act the way they act because they're blinded and controlled. If they started making their own decisions and left and needed help in any way, I'm there.

  Has anyone ever spent time watching Latino t.v.? I have, and I have been struck by the difference in t.v. commercials vs. English language channels. There is absolutely no cynicism, it's all glowing and drippy 'this product will make you so happy!' stuff, with syrupy voices. It's like they're stuck in the early 60's. Is there a lack of skepticism in Hispanic culture? Maybe more respect for institutions?

  A question for the shunned re: hide or seek

  so here's my question as a newly daed person that is summarily shunned.

  do you hide from family and act like you don't exist or do you let them know you're still here and seek them out?

  they want you to be dead, like you no longer exist, because strict avoidance makes it easier on them.

  Yes, send them cards, even gifts, and include lots of current happy pictures of you guys! And have children if you don't already if possible, so you can create your own family. And if you do, send pics of the kids living happy normal lives!! And take pictures of yourselves enjoying many adventures. Send it all to them!! Do not just disappear, let them see how 'horrible and depressing' your lives are without their cult.
