I want to address everyone here, so first:
CG: Oh I know what you are saying, I am not going to try to change her mind, I am just going to keep her company because I know she will need it.
Valis: She wants to go, she is sorta swaying, maybe she will opt out. Maybe I will mention some other ideas. I am already going to take her out to a club at night (perhaps on a saturday night?).
Jeanie: I can understand your concern. I am not encouraging her to go to meetings, I will only accompany her so she does not feel like crap. I would think the shunning is enough to discourage her from going, and that me being around (an ex-jw) will show her that the love is not within the religion.
mamas: I do not believe in shunning, and I refused to shun my oldest sister who was disfellowshipped (and reinstated-and possibly the most self rightous person I know now). I will certainly never shun my sister who I am the closest to, at a time when she is most spiritually/emotionally/mentally fragile, it would not be an act of love and I am not sure how anyone could ever justify it.

might go back to the meetings - what am I getting myself into?
by jwbot inwell my sister and her husband are now working towards figuring out the custody issues and divorce.
both being very civil about it.
my sister will most likely be disfellowshipped as she is with another man (a very nice british guy, actually).. .

2 and 3 are awesome. I could only decide if I knew WHERE and WHEN she is getting married. The 3rd one is innapropriate for a beach wedding, but great for a more formal/classy affair.

Well my sister and her husband are now working towards figuring out the custody issues and divorce. Both being very civil about it. My sister will most likely be disfellowshipped as she is with another man (a very nice british guy, actually).
Not sure why, but she still wants to be a witness. I think she is depressed and just doing what she can to feel good about herself. She is moving into an apartment today I think...the rugs had to be replaced or something...
Since she is maybe 2 streets down from me now, and the rest of the family probably will not talk to her (unless trying to convince her to come back), then I am all the family she has.
I told her that if she needs someone to come to the meetings with her so she does not feel alone, then I would go with her on only the sunday ones (and not sure if every week though). I want to wear pants though. I have long abandoned wearing skirts in winter time--no need and its too cold. All my other skirts are way short anyway...hehe. Maybe I should wear my plaid school-girl mini pleated skirt? haha!
Ok well we obviously will not get loved-bombed. It made my mom happy to know that I am helping out my sister though. It seems for some strange reason, I am getting on my families good side again. Even my brother-in-law. Such a very odd, intense, stressfull month! -

Do you still Patronize Women?
by limbo ini was thinking today about how jehovah's witnesses are conditioned to view women.
i'm sure there have been many threads and discussions on this subject.
just curious how you view women now that you are no longer a jw?

Do you think that your woman (girl friend, wife, lover etc). should be there when you need her
Yes, I am there for my S/O when he needs me, and he is there for me!
fix you dinner
I like to make dinner--I have control over how healthy it is as we are on a diet. I also cook better because I learned a lot from my father who was very talented in the kitchen. If Mike cooks...its chop suey...but boy do I love his chop suey :)
clean up after you
I clean up after him on those weeks where I am full of energy and just need to do things, but on some weeks it is he who has the energy to clean up. On the weeks where we are both tired--well the house is a mess and we take naps. Both of us have hard schedules so we just expect that whoever has the time and energy can clean. :)
look good
Of course! I like to look good, and I like my S/O to look good too. And if neither of us look good but just want to be comfy? That is fine too! He always manages to make me feel sexy no matter how crappy I look, and I always find him attractive as long as his breath is not stinky! We take pride in the way we look and how fit we have become, other times, we do not mind being a bit more relaxed.
please you sexually
I WANT to please him sexually, and I want him to please me and he wants to please me and he wants me to please him, its a system that works. Sex is important to our relationship, to the both of us. I wish I was in the mood more often.
shut up when she should
Me? Shut up? Never! Mike always wants my opinion, and if he doesn't--well I might give it to him anyways. ;)
The point is, there are no "female jobs" or "male jobs". To build a great relationship, you have to know its an equal partnership. Some of us are just better at the other in certain things, reguardless of gender. The JWs seem to not get that concept. In a relationship where one has power over the other--someone is not happy. -

I did mine last night! (Due April 15th in the states). I am getting about $1700 refund and my S/O gets $2000! We are thinking about getting a new apartment (ours cost too much in heating costs) and some furninshings and perhaps paying a credit card or 2 off.
