  the situation is many of us are pima and all putting on a front, sometimes saying something we don’t fully believe.

  or at least are actually agnostic about but a hope that it’s true.. but it can be useful if someone is really going through a hard time or has something they are very worried about, to say things like well let’s hope there is not much longer of this old system.. this can be useful in an awkward situation where you just don’t know what to do or say.

  it’s a little bit of hope that can help when there is nothing else.. my agnosticism just means i won’t look back over decades thinking i wasted my life.

  Yes constantly testing and challenging. If there is no proof then I’m correct to remain agnostic. This is no contradiction this is the very essence of what agnostic is at its core.

  Have been challenging many on here to prove evolution and it always comes down to the emperors clothes con.

  Cofty just says you need to read more science books and implies you are just not smart enough to see the invisible clothes.

  I challenge once again anyone please provide proof of evolution where is the simple pithy proof? Where is the fossils or the archeological findings that can prove evolution?

  Please don’t revert back to the emperors new clothes con.

  One time he went that gay island and posted lots of very gay pictures and commented that it was his first time trying tea

  there was a lot made of him trying tea for the first time and what it meant

  i think it may have been infused with something or other

  either that or it is gay slang for something that I don’t understand

  Empirical observation can apply to the origin of life by intelligence more than by evolutionary chance. But still either option of the start of all things can never be proven hence agnosticism is the only true belief system until proof can be presented.

  The more you study and the more you understand the more you realise just how much we humans do not know.

  Cofty and others try to say the missing link has been found or there is now proof of evolution but if it can’t be shown in a short time then bullshit baffles brains emperors new clothes techniques. “You have to be smart to see it” or “you just need to study more”

  if you can’t make your point in a short pithy time then you have no point to make.

  the entire point of being agnostic is that there is no proof.

  if there is proof of evolution then the missing link would have been found by now

    I truly appreciate your attepts at acquiring a new worlview after WT. It is unavoidable and is a worthy pursuit.
    
    Your above statement is a truth claimed based on empiricism. Did you prove this by empirical observation? No, you can't see a truth claim. It is abstract. So, how do you know the statement itself is true?

    So, the notion that all truth claims ought to be determined by empirical observation, cannot be proved by emirical observation and therefore should be rejected by its own standard.
    
    Many things can be proved by empirical observation, just not all. So, it cannot be the ultimate standard of truth.
    
    Christians don't have this problem.

  • Creationists say the facts like the sun is the perfect distance that it’s apparent size to the moon in a total eclipse is exact from our point of view on earth shows proof of intelligent design. Is this what you are talking about with relying on experience or observation alone often without due regard for system and theory?
  • Is there any such observations with origin of life by chance theory? Has the missing link been found yet?

  • It all comes down to proof. Even if you have faith in something for example Darwin’s theory, if it can’t be proved then agnostic is what you are even if you don’t like it and don’t agree

  The meaning of being agnostic is that you have come to the conclusion that either chance or intelligent design can’t be proven.

  If one could be proven then all agnostics would jump that side of the fence.

  If someone could prove either chance or intelligent design then please post the proof here, I would jump that side of the fence in a heartbeat. Please I’m serious there would be no more agnosticism that would be it.

  unfortunately there is no proof of either theory and once you come to this realisation you also realise we are all agnostic until such proof can be presented.

  both chance and intelligent design are theories until irrefutable proof can be presented everyone is agnostic wether they like it or not.
