the advice to reduce work and earn less to spend more time preaching has not aged well.. the cost of living crisis means many have more going out on necessities than they have coming in.. so many asked their employer to reduce their hours and refused promotion only to see their colleagues go up the ladder when they stayed lowly position with rubbish jobs thinking the end will be here soon.

next week midweek meeting is all about preparing for an economic crisis.. they say have a go bag and new advice for all jws to store food and water at home and grow a vegetable garden, i kid you not.

There are some young brothers who have no trades they are just cleaning and cutting grass

they are struggling as much as anybody

some older elders and pioneers are also struggling and these young brothers were asked to help them by the body of elders

which really meant free labour

This elderly couple have adult children in the truth but they are so ‘busy’ they ask the parents congregation to look after them.

the elders just ask these brothers to cut the grass, fix the gutters and clean for them. No money as everyone is broke from following direction.

I feel these young brothers are being taken advantage of and the real adult children should be paying them or at least doing it themselves. But of course they are simply too ‘busy’

this older couple can hardly walk to the bathroom these days but want to go to the convention. They are asking for special parking tickets but they can’t afford a car. The adult children should take them but no they are saying the congregation must take them and pay for them and look after them all three days

there are TOO MANY needy Witnesses in one place. This is the end result of pursuing poverty for DECADES when they should have been holding down decent jobs instead.

good point, the congregations of JWs are now full on uneducated unqualified min wage part time workers who were told not to pursue higher education or well paid careers.

there is a concentration of low paid, renters who never bought a property or never paid into a pension because they were told the end would be here before they retired.

No wonder they are reducing pioneer hour requirements, but it’s too little too late.

There are so many approaching their later years that are now suddenly starting to panic, they spent the majority of their life in service for WTower and never gave a second thought about preparing for their later years.

Will the branch do anything to help the needy ones? Yes they will tell the congregations to help them while they carry in asking for more funds to build the expensive Hollywood studios

It’s already starting in congregations here in the UK.

Some haven’t paid their utilities and rents in such a long time.

To start with some slightly wealthier older ones give a couple of hundred pounds in an envelope but it’s for food for the kids.

the problem was always that the direction was to work less hours and shitty jobs at that.

now the world is facing something similar to a modern version of the Great Depression

the congregations will be really struggling as the banking system continues to collapse.

when a member of the congregation gets announced they are no longer a JW it doesn’t take long before everyone hears rumblings.

this is a very unusual situation that a GB member just had a quick announcement then it was taken down after a few days, then his videos start getting removed

are JWs supposed to just look the other way nothing to see here move along, like the famous Baghdad Bob?

Many videos of Tony have been removed but he has been in so many over the years

even in the book which is full of videos he pops up occasionally like the international convention video

thats the difference with other times a GB member has been removed they weren’t on loads of videos back then

its one of things people want to talk about when they see a video with Tony but fear being told off

The most famous videos about this are the one with the brother who had a big coffee machine and big tv then next shot he had a small tv and no coffee machine

then that young black brother who’s teacher was telling him to go for more education

he dreamed of more more and a nice car but at the career expo he asked if he could work part time. They said to him no full time only so he ended up getting a shitty part time job because you know the end is so close now☹️

There is another well known video of a young white father in USA who has a shitty job mopping the floor of a corner shop. He can’t even afford a washing machine for his family and when he is at the laundromat one of his kids socks gets mixed in with another woman’s washing. She writes her number down for him he is obviously very down from his shitty job mopping the floor and stacking shelves but don’t worry it’s right around the corner

the end of the video he takes some old boxes home from work and plays out Bible stories with his family and didn’t ring the other woman who was flirting with him.

how many JWs sacrificed half decent jobs to pioneer and now are really going to struggle in this banking crisis?

it seems another bank collapses every few days lately and gets given to JP Morgan on taxpayers funds, this just consolidates risk to one place which is more dangerous than having it spread around.

if we are looking at another Great Depression like there was 100 years ago then all the pioneers who have had part time shitty jobs are going to be a burden on others
