This is absolutely true the threat of disfellowshipping doesn’t carry the same weight it used to.
Most just ignore the direction to shun. What can the elders do if parents keep having associations with dissed family members?
Would the elders really threaten to disfellowship the parents as well? In the past that may have been a possibility, but these days there wouldn’t be many left in the congregation they are so desperate to cling on to numbers

Any time you mention a critical article or video to a JW, their reply will be that you cannot trust anything posted on the internet because it's likely something apostates have photoshopped or falsified to discredit "the brothers". There is plenty to be said about the bOrganization without having to fake it.

so, i finally saw the annual meeting video part 2.. this is the one with the “new light” on who might survive armageddon, vs. those who do not.. in summary, for those of you fortunate enough not to have to sit through it, it’s something like this:.

Yes they keep close on apostate stuff, it’s the way they can tell if when they make mistakes. They could never know that from other PIMIs in Bethel.

This is a very good point. The new light means you can wait and see if Noah was right then say ok it looks like the world is actually going to flood now like Noah said, OK I will get on the ark after all, better to wait and see for sure first.
This is surely the wise thing to do now before anyone gets baptised. Wait and see if things play out the way JWs say it will. Then you can always get on the ark if it’s looking like the world will flood. But don’t waste you time or energy until then.

Then the really shocking part that disfellowshipped ones can come back last minute.
this changes everything from the point of view of Pascals Wager. It used to be it was worth it making the wager that God exists. But this new light means you don’t have to make that wager until the great tribulation starts.
it’s just like betting on a horse race but you can wait until the race is over then make your bet once you know for sure.
This is such a massive change and now young people don’t need to get baptised just stay JWLITE,
