We enterered a contract with them in our baptism talk being baptised in the farther son, and holy spirit, now it is in the name of the father son and god's anointed earthly organization...

it would appear that active jw's who have reservations about the societies teachings, are usually doubtful about the prohibition of accepting a blood transfusion.
oddly, few seem to have any qualms about the shunning policy whilst they are still associating.
I refused to shunn anyone. If I saw them matter of a fact I would go out of my way to walk over and say Hi, how are you doing.Make small talk. Just thought that it would bring them back because they would think, "at lease someone cares."
I didn't go along with alot of things as I got older and that is while I was an elder.

if you had the money what you do warn people of the "truth".
i was thinking while on holiday of what money could accomplish in helping and educating people about the "truth".. i though maybe an half page advert in the national newspapers , as witness would find it hard to resist reading it if they didn't know it was there before hand , maybe one every few week on a different subject.. so in the first one it would read,.

an article in the daily express today cites a study that claims the average person is getting brainier.it claims,.
"the average child in britian today would have been hailed a genius 60 years ago".
do you think this is true?.
IMHO, the only thing that will keep people from becoming JWs, even for a short while is not IQ or intellegence since there are many intelligent people in the org... I know a person who helped, while he was in the army, in the space program get us to the moon the first time. He retired from the army and became a JW.
What causes the Influx into the organization, is a moment of weakness in a person because of maybe death or illness or bad luck then the witness knocks on the door and maybe the person had uttered a "Oh please god help me."
Then they are persuaded that God directed the JWs to their door, more important is reasoning power, you can be smart as hell but if you can't use critical thinking abilities and reasoning they will get you every time....
after reading the post about new light of the 1000s that will fall by your side, makes the times i would go to the doors and the people would say, "every religion deciphers, and translate the bible the way they want it.

but you know the longer one stays out the more one realizes that the people were right and we did preach a bunch of crap.. this new light about falling away deals with apostacy is just another change to say look how god's channel has improved on the understaning of the scriptures.. all religions translate the bible to slant it to their way of thinking, but only jehovah witnesses keep changing and flip flopping to a point that those who have a brain and eyes and honest hearted see the way the manipulation is taking place.

I remember a bro. gunther in Mississippi back in the early 70s.
He and his wife were the sweetest people I ever met.
They stayed with us we were in our early twenties they were in their late sixties he taught me how to repair sewing machines and she taught us how to make Mexican corn bread( the best I have ever ate.) But when we moved to California the COs & Do s were so demanding. They expected the congregation to buy bread machgines and appliancies that our wives did not have.
Some wanted this plant and others wanted that plant incorporated in the landscape.
It got to the point I hated to see the or hear of the CO's visit.
