My gran visited us and we went to the seaside and my gran liked to get her palm read by gypsy rose at the seaside attractions ,so she went in and we waited outside being good Jws ,gran was wearing a cape/poncho at the time she had her palm read ,she then gifted the cape/poncho to my mum and then bad things started happening in the house ( my gran could start a argument in a empty house so would cause trouble between my mum and dad) so they blamed it on the cape ,dad took it outside to burn it and it wouldn't burn because it was demon possessed (not because it probably had a flame retardant coating) so he dug a deep hole and buried it and everything was all ok.

Canada: Jehovah’s Witnesses challenge constitutionality of B.C. privacy law
by yalbmert99 inonce again, watchtower doesn't want to respect our human rights.

WT needs to learn that human rights apply both ways , not just when there rights are abused eg Russia .
They will also not like the fact that their disregard for the human rights of their members and ex members are being aired in the public eye.

Clap for the Carers (or Don't it's Forbidden)
by Slidin Fast inso, in the uk, during the early stages of covid there was a groundswell of appreciation for the nhs for their front-line sacrifice.
this was crystallised into a regular clapping/whistling/noise making session every thursday at 8pm.. "harmless" you would have thought, "a gesture of appreciation", "what could possibly be wrong with joining in on that innocent activity?".
well, the co during his recent rounds had a different view.

I applaud those who cared for my father in the last few weeks of his life (who was led to believe that he would never grow old in this system).
I also applaud those who cared for my sister who lost her two year battle with cancer a few weeks ago.
I also applaud those who cared for my mother who also passed away a few weeks ago of a broken heart at the lost of her husband and daughter.
What a heartless, thoughtless word's spoken by this co for those who suffered and are suffering and are being cared by these selfless caring people, these are special people deserve all the gratitude and recognition for what they do.

What Do Today’s Jehovah’s Witnesses Really Think?
by minimus inwhen i was a witness i knew what my beliefs were and could defend my views, even if it really was wrong.
i understood jw doctrines .
i could define what the faithful and discreet slave was.

Any thinking Jws have left or are on here or are pimo .
The rest just listen obey and are blessed (that would make a good kingdom song) that's why the hateful eight can change beliefs as an when it suits them and the sheep's just accept it with out question because they are being manipulated and controlled by talks and the printed page as to what they have to believe without question.

Losing My Religion - America's progressive estrangement from organized religion
by EdenOne inthis article on the latest gallup survey:.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/america-losing-religion-effects-long-093028404.html.
in 1937, 73% of americans would be affiliated with some organized religion; that number remained steady until 1999: (70%); the 21st century brought about a major shift: 50% in 2018; 47% in the latest survey.. children who grew up in households without organized religion are less likely to affiliate to some form of organized religion.. it's not only a generational difference; the growth in those who express no religious preference is also on the rise in generation x (those born between mid 1960's and early 1980's).

Memorial Prep question
by ExCircuitOverseer inso are individual witnesses being told to prepare bread and have wine on hand for the zoom memorial?
are they saying it’s “vital” or is it just a “suggestion?” .
-
Fadeaway1962
This time last year my father was in hospital (not covid) and a sister who works in the hospital smuggled the wine and bread in , so he could celebrate the memorial on zoom while in the hospital (veiwed himself as part of the great crowd) so didn't need to have them but it was important to him.

They also found a 6000 year old mummified skeleton of a child ,and a 10,500 year old basket kept in tact , preserved because of hot ,arid environment.(why could god not have preserved the original copy of these scrolls if so important to mankind so as to stop any confusion about the meaning)
My JW family have mentioned about yhwh being found in these scrolls , but fail to accept the other things that were found preserved which are in conflict with their beliefs, are excited about a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a word in these scrolls.

What is the most insensitive thing an Overseer or Elder has ever said and done to you?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inwhat is the most insensitive thing an overseer or elder has ever said and done to you?
i have had many insensitive things said to me by some elders, but for some reason one self-righteous elder was always on my case.
he didn't like the fact that i missed meetings, didn't like that i never went out in field service, that i didn't answer at the weekly meetings and he didn't like that i carried my books and magazines in my hands and not a service/book bag.

When I left my abusive wife , after being directed to by a domestic abuse agency and being in a homeless shelter for two weeks I meet with two elders to discuss the situation and the elders they just told me that a husband should not leave his wife was repeat it over and over again and that I should be more assertive in my marriage I told them that would make me the abusive one,I tried to get them to look up what constitutes domestic abuse because she had admitted to them things that are abusive in a marriage.
And they offered to study with us as if that would fix it, I refused.
