DISFELLOWSHIPPING, How bad is it really?

i found this experience on reddit today.

disfellowshipping never really bothered me.

i always thought it was just another way of getting rid of members that weren't welcome anymore.. but i've changed my mind.

A acquisition was made against him by a under age girl who's grandfather was the po and included himself on the judicial committee and the decision was already made before he attended the meeting and they were unwilling to listen to him and any evidence he was 40 miles away at the time the incident, he was fed up with it all and just walked out , so they disfellowshiped him and his controlling ex bethel boy father did nothing to help his son because it's from Jehovah.

The police report was after the JC and there was a concern regarding the girl not my nephew , only become aware of this recently, I've contacted my nephew and apologize to him for not being there for him , but he has decided that we are no longer his family .

My brother who is a elder also was made aware of this recently and just said mistakes are made .

So because of my going along with the disfellowshiping arrangement I have lost a nephew .

My nephew was disfellowshiped more than 10 years ago for something he never did , the police looked into the allegation against him , their was no case against him (only found this out a few months ago)

My sister was diagnosed with secondary cancer just over two years ago and we managed to contact him to let him know (necessary family business) and he called and spoke to his father and he said that he was disfellowshiped and they can't speak to him until he returns to Jehovah.

Before she lost her fight against the cancer ,she made it aware to our mother that she wanted to know how he was doing and if she was a granny , so I called him but because of that phone call with his father he wanted nothing to do with them and wouldn't even use the word mother called her by her name.

While she was in the hospice hours before she passed her husband tried to find there only child on Facebook , but didn't even recognize him when looked up his name and was told by another family member that was him .

But it was too late at that time .

Is it really BAD absolutely.

Has anyone still in or otherwise heard anything about JWs think we only have 12 months before Armageddon?

i’ve noticed a change in family attitude recently, like there is just something extra on their mind.

i even had to call my brother to check if he was dying and too scared to tell me.

anyway, i saw a video last night my saying jws think we only have 12 months left before armageddon so thought maybe this is the reason for changes attitude.

My sister was convinced after that video that the great tribulation had started , but got annoyed when I asked about the cry of peace and security and the fall of badylon the great. That will happen soon, but more than a year and nothing.

it’s a form of emotional abuse.

Yes , false accusations of flirting and affairs with work colleagues and sister's in the k/hall (she was having a romantic relationship with a work colleague) being overly sensitive and having mental health issues .

Now looking back it started almost as soon as we meet and escalated over time till I started to feel something wasn't right in the relationship and saw a poster that men can be victims of domestic abuse and then contacted a male helpline and they made me aware of gaslighting and then I made a plan to leave , took a few years because of my kids .

She was good at gaslighting as she also convinced the elders of my supposed mental health issues and that I ran off with another woman and took all the money .(which I never did)

Helped with my awakening as to the gaslighting at the meetings and on JW.org that you are never good enough , not doing enough ministry etc .

If I remember correctly were there not caricatures making fun of Catholic priests etc in the early golden age Mags etc .

So it's okay for them to make fun or make exaggerations of other religions beliefs and practices.

my 1979 honda xl500s became my best friend.

i had a few teenage neighbors and school friends that rode too.

Nice bike

Late 70s & early 80s had bikes GT 250 two stroke , used for work and fun ,was veiwed as inappropriate as you couldn't use it for ministry etc ,got a car and then was a free taxi service for the ministry, then maybe 10 or more years later some of those elders who were giving me a hard time for having a bike got one for a Saturday afternoon run,and when I asked them why it's ok now but not years ago as a single man they wouldn't answer me.

Recently got myself a royal Enfield Himalayan enjoy going out especially on a Sunday morning.

Beneficial for your mental health riding a motorcycle.

What is your status (as of today) as a Jehovah's Witness?

active believer...still attend meetings, go out in field service, believe it's ''the truth''.

active non-believer... go to meetings and field service to please family... living a double life .

inactive believer...don't attend meetings but believe it's the truth, one day might go back to kingdom hall.

No4 fading during 2019 , since lockdown never done a zoom meeting ,fully finished with the cult, have attended a few family JW funeral services at a crematorium in the last year.still on speaking terms with my JW brother who's a elder, and reconnected with my other brother who I shunned for 20 year's .

Jesus veiwed Adam and Eve as the first humans on earth some 6000 year's ago , evidence that humans have lived on earth for hundreds of thousands of years is clear.

Jesus spoke of a worldwide flood and Noah building a ark to save humans and animal life, there never was a worldwide flood some 4300 years ago , their is clear evidence to support the fact that their was no worldwide flood , Google it .
