in 1989 i was in my freshman year of high school.
i became interested in the girl who was a jw.
basically you can tell what happen from here.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom as well. This is a tough thing, trying to save someone from their religion. I myself haven't even attempted with my family because I know they won't listen. Sure I've argued different topics with them, but try and save them? I feel it would only make things worse for all of us. BUT, that's my family. You know what I do, or try to do that doesn't seem to get me very far sometimes? I try and live my life the best way I can, as an upright Christian. I smoke, and live with my Girlfriend, so I guess in their eyes I'm not doing so well. But I'm a good father, and I try to behave like a Christian, and I figure that's about all I can do. Not that I do that for them, but I hold on to this hope that they notice. Other than that it depends on how "Strong" they are in the "Truth". You were there, would you have listened had someone told you that you were wrong? Sometimes people wake up and sometimes they don't, and for the ones that do it's different for each one. Different things spark a light in their heads that make them wonder. I personally don't worry about my family being involved with the religion, how can it hurt them? I suppose if I knew Christ's Church was on earth today I might feel differently.Just count your blessings that they talk to you and call it a day, if you start pushing you might lose that as well, and for what?

"higher" education not needed in god's new order
in the june 8, 1967 issue, the awake!
magazine printed an article on pages 3-8 entitled "second thoughts about a college education.
They feel like Crap!
just got home a short while ago after visiting a couple of local kingdom halls.
yep, left them a "present" a little lamb with a note regarding the "silenced lambs" and the silent lambs web site.
they'll be there to greet the pioneers and publishers for their early morning field service meeting.
Hey, you know what? I just had a brainstorm (based on someone elses Idea, haha). What if we bought lambs in plastic cases, and mailed them to NY (or all over the world for that matter), with a very obvious message attached to it. It wouldn't matter if those wackos look at it or not. It will accomplish two purposes.
1. We'll drive them nuts, and hey, with enough prayer we might get them to cut their crap!
2. Everyone who touches it will see what the message is! I picture USMAIL employees pulling their co-workers over to take a look.
3. They'll either sign for them and we can laugh really hard OR they'll send them back through the mail again!
As a matter of fact, I took a business refreshment course recently, and one of the best ideas I've learned so far in advertising (That's what I do) is to NEVER ever send a piece of mail out without advertising on it! So now when I mail a letter it has my web address and other interesting info printed on the backside, and you know what? It Works! So on top of sending Little lambs in plastic cases, print SilentLambs.org's message on ALL your mail!

i was wondering if anyone on this forum is near cincinnati?.
thats where i be, and i be lonely!.
peace to all!.
I don't know if it's occurred to anyone, but we could take up a collection ??
A bus ticket isn't too much and it's not that far.....
I'll chip in if anyone else is game.
GreyHound Tickets are running around 120.00, you can get a decent hotel in Manhattan for around the same, so I think 250.00 would do it. I'll be there, I can pick her up from Port Authority and we can make sure she eats.
Tell me what you all think. We'd have done it a few years ago to help a family to a convention..........I think?
That reminds me. I asked my Elders one time if I could take my DF sister to the assembly, and they said no......it was up to her ex-husband to make sure she got there! Hahaha, there's a reason there's an "ex" in front of "Husband" you freakin geniuses.....
Why is my signature not showing anymore??
this is a rough draft of the talk follow the drama at the dc.
do you see any subliminal reference to dateline?
silentlambs.
Wow, bummer I missed this important message. But I'm sure I'll catch it next time.
What a Crock Of Crap

I got screwed out of my higher education.
Then my Mother goes to college a few years ago.
What a crock of crap!

I would think he couldn't resist opening it. Maybe put a fake label on it "Center City Binding"........he'll think it's paper samples and they can save a buck or two and print more crap.
9/10/02 edited to change the subject title (maybe midnight madness sale wasn't such a good idea!
as all of the sl supporters know, things are in high gear with the press conferences last week, and more to come, the andersons traveling to canada for the boer v. wts trial which is occurring right now, and b.bowen going to the uk next week, and the sl march coming up very quickly!
hence, all these things take moola and you can help the silenced lambs and the silentlambs cause to move forward by ordering your silent lambs memorabilia if you haven't done so already.
This sure would be alot easier if there were a shopping cart. Bill if you need help with this or need space or something let me know. I can set it up for you.
not only did i have the fortune of being raised a dub, but i also live in the heart of mormonism, good old slc.
my wife went to lds church today and says she is going to start going every week.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggghh.
I would let her be......maybe they're the true church......how much would that suck if you "Saved" them now only to learn later it was not a good idea.......At the very least take it easy with her, do some studying, find out for yourself. And if it's not the true church what's the worst that can happen? you trip over a Book of Mormon every once in a while? They may be very into their religion, but from what I know of them they're no more wrong than anyone else, and certainly alot more normal that JW's! I do have quite a bit of information piled up here on the sect. Nothing really worthwhile though. My wife was going to the LDS church for a while, so I gathered several hundred articles, and I read them all. I can't really find a solid point to argue them on. They've never told a false prophecy, they do not hide child abuse, they do not shun (not like JW's do) and they love Christ.....what's so bad about that? My wife doesn't go anymore, but if she did it wouldn't bother me a bit, they're good people, and I know we get paranoid about organized religion, but we also have to keep a balance and not categorize everyone with the Watchtower.
