Watchtower to pay for Silentlambs trip
by Dogpatch infrom silentlambs (bill bowen):.
on thursday of this week world wide work money will again be spent to protect a pedophile.
in addition it will also be spent to pay money to a disfellowshipped person in order to find a way to prevent them from assisting the court case of abuse survivors.

Mormons Last Night
by NeonMadman ini mentioned last week in another thread that some mormons were to be coming by.
the way all this came about was that, in late april, my wife and i went to las vegas for a few days.
she was assigned by her company to attend a conference there, and, since i had never been more than a few miles west of the mississippi river, decided to tag along to see the sights.

Ask them about the book of Isaiah, and why it's copied word for word in the BoM. Specifically quoting the KJV which uses the name "Lucipher" (which was a horribly inaccurate translation).
And let me know if they have a good answer, I've been asking them for 17 years.

PS - Some questions I had a while back, and some other info:

To say that the Elders KNEW they were NOT being directed by the Holy Spirit is hogwash at best. None of us can get into the minds of these men. I believe that most Elders DO believe they are being directed by the Holy Spirit, but that as well, may be complete hogwash, for all I know. These guys live this lie whether they realize it or not, but no matter what, I would think they start to believe. They're so overwhelmed with power, they probably think that's the gift of the Holy Ghost!
The Elders in general are just as misled as the rest of the rank and file JWs, and don't think they aren't. They're lied to and filled with garbage just like the rest of them are. Are they in a better position to see the wrong? Of course, but by the time they make it to that position they're so full of 'glory' they can't see straight.
To say that is not true, is to say that Bill Bowen spent how many years misleading his flock intentionally? I don't think any (many?) of you guys believe that to be true. I spent 20+ years as a JW and never once did I believe the Elders, nor the GB to be faultless, and I don't believe anyone in the faith believes that, nor is led to believe that to be true. If any of them DO believe it, than they have personal problems of their own. I personally never believed they were directly appointed by the Holy Spirit, although I did believe they "relied on the help" of the Holy Spirit. I think sometimes we're so ready to throw blame at the Watchtower, that we paint them all out to be evil, like it's a 6 million person strong conspiracy. Give me a break!
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for this lawsuit, and I wish the Berrys well. My only intentions in commenting on this thread, is to point out that it's a 50/50 toss-up on whether or not that body of Elders knew they were doing wrong or not. We can 'assume' Sarah Berry was brainwashed, and we can 'assume' the Elders knew full well they were doing wrong, and we can 'assume' Bill Bowen intentionally spent many years partaking in a conspiracy, and we can 'assume' Franz started this nasty ball rolling, and we can 'assume' everyone in this organization is evil, and we can 'assume' alot of other things, but assumption is a funny thing, especially when based on the complete lack of knowledge we have regarding the things in the minds of other individuals.

it crossed my mind. I have no idea if he's innocent or guilty, I wasn't there. I fear this 'hang em' and ask questions later. IF he's innocent, then his life has been ruined.....but then again he shouldn't have been buying underwear for this girl, that's just asking for trouble. So, in that sense, he's not entirely without guilt.

ONE-WITNESS POLICY
by UnDisfellowshipped inthis is, i believe, a very important scripture for jehovah's witnesses to read -- because it proves that in the mosaic law, there was a one-witness policy for rape!.
i want to give a huge thank you to "nanoprobe" for pointing this out on another thread!
i think everyone should ask the society about this scripture!.

I would say this guy needs some counseling of some kind at the very least. Not sure about recidivism. From personal observation most of the Witnesses involved in this kind of thing seem to be situational rather than serial. This guy just may have a bolt loose rather than being a real predator. Don't know enough about the situation. If he's a predator I'll be happy to throw the switch myself.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

While Juries do not declare anyone 'innocent', in a court of law, the accused IS innocent, until proven guilty to a jury of his/her peers. So, in effect, by law he was 'innocent' since day one, the jury simply didn't find him guilty.
I must emphatically agree with amac here. I myself don't know alot about this case, and I wasn't there, through any of it, and I too would like to see the court transcript. I'm not giving my opinion on his guilt or innocence, because I don't have one. We have to be careful not to assume all those accused are guilty. It could be any of us accused at any time, or members of our family. That's why I totally disagree with this 'plan' to get the Watchtower to remove their two witness rule. While it needs to be revamped from top to bottom, they should never in my opinion, remove the rule itself. (with that being said, I do believe that any time a case is brought before congregation Elders, the proper authorities should be called in, before anything else, no matter what the evidence or lack thereof)
I also heard rumors that some were blaming the Watchtower for Angiuano not being found guilty. I don't know what they attempted to cover up prior to the trial, but judging from the following statement, it doesn't appear to be the case during the trial:
"During the course of the trial the 12-year-old, her mother and a congregation leader testified against Angiuano."
So like I said, I don't know enough about the case to know whether the guy is innocent of rape or not, but I do agree with amac, we have to be careful not to condemn someone without knowing more than what we know now. And we also have to be careful not to condemn the Watchtower in every case. Once in a great while they do everything right, not very often in my opinion, but on occassion. It's not the Watchtower's fault that they have Child Molesters within their ranks, they're in every walk of life. In my opinion, we should be applauding this 'congregation leader' for testifying in this child's behalf.

Just one last thing.
My wife has spoken, and because of some health problems and my stress level, and the fact that this has been going on with my sister and I for almost a year, she's forbid me to respond to her in any form. Haha, she's cracked the whip, but with very good reason. I won't or can't go into details, but this has all been a trial for my wife and children as well as myself. I must concede that she (my wife) is 100% correct. There comes a time when your immediate family must come before all else, and this is definitely one of those times.
So, in lieu of that, I will do as my wife asks, and leave this alone. We're changing our phone number, and we're going to attempt to ignore these issues. So, should this go any further, and it generally does, I will not respond, for any reason. If anyone has questions, feel free to email or 'PM' me and I'll be happy to respond.
I just want my sister to know that I love her, and I'd do anything for her, except allow my wife and children to be harmed in any way. Perhaps one day she'll understand that, when she receives the help that she so desperately needs. For those of you that have my number and would like to be updated when it changes, please email me and I'll send it along when it's ready :)

PS - Again, I apologize to Simon and others that have had to deal with this problem for so many months.
